Slide 5 Why markets? Agriculture - key income stream for 86% of the population in PNG 55% of women reported experiencing some form of violence in the previous 12 months while at the market. 22% females report experiencing more than one incident of SV in the market. 64% of females and males reported witnessing some form of SV in the market. SV was not the only problem, extortion, theft, ethnic clashes and other forms of violence.
