Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd. is planning to upgrade their wastewater treatment and recycling systems. The proposed structures include asludge dewatering building, clarifier and clarifier overflow tank, and concrete pump pads. Construction equipment may include, but are not limitedto: excavators, backhoes and cranes. The only occupied structure will be the sludge dewatering building. The building has an approximatefoundation area of 140 m2 and a floor area of approximately 1 25m2. The building has an approximate height of 5m. Occupancy will be of atemporary nature limited to maintenance personnel on a sporadic basis.Estimated volume of backfill required: 1040 m3 (There is a surplus of backfill stored onsite, which can be used for this project. No backfill will needto be brought to site.) Estimated volume of excavation required for the construction: 270 m3. Estimated volume of concrete for the construction: 215m3

Currently the site is graded to collect all stormwater run-off into the existing Secondary SettlingPond for treatment. The Secondary Settling Pond will remain in operation throughout the upgradesto the recycled water system. The construction works for the recycled water system upgrades willnot affect existing stormwater run-off collection methods, nor will sediments be conveyed off-siteas a result of construction operations.
