Evaporative Air Cooling Mechanism

Warm and

dry air

Cold and

humid air

Evaporative air cooling is the natural way of cooling, similar to a breeze blowing across a lake. This breeze drops the temperature and has a relaxing cooling effect.

The evaporative air cooler cools the air by means of the evaporation of water. When water evaporates into the air, the result is a mixture of air and water molecules. This chemical change requires heat which is taken from the water molecules, resulting in cooler air propelled from the unit.

When the product is used for the first time the Honeycomb cooling media will have an odour which will dissipate in a weekor so of initial use.

The recommended maximum relative humidity level is 60% orless, which allows a noticeable temperature decrease. Thetemperature decrease will be greater in drier climates becausehigher evaporation occurs when the humidity is low.

The evaporative air cooler should not be used in enclosedspaces. It must be kept level and there must be water in thewater tank. The room should have doors and windows openedto allow free air flow. The evaporative air cooler works bestwhen placed near an open window, so that outside air is drawninto the evaporative air cooler, the air circulates in the room, then exits via the door. The maximum cooling effect is feltwhen a person is in the flow of air coming out of the evaporativeair cooler.

The evaporative air cooler can also be used to humidify dry airduring cool weather. To be used for humidification thewindows and doors should be closed to allow the humidifiedair to accumulate. The evaporative air cooler is not an airconditioner as it does not use a compressor or refrigerant gas.It should not be expected to cool as efficiently as a refrigeratedair conditioner.

NOTE : Continuous water supply connection is optional, and may not be provided with all models.Connect the garden hose Connector and turn on the water.Verify water tight connections by visually examining boththe float/hose connections.

Water can be filled into the air cooler by:Continuous water supplyWith the help of garden hose connected to the hose connector on the unit, water will refill inside the tank on turning on the water tap.

Open the Water fill door located at the top of the unit (when facing front) & fill water up to the maximum tank level. Water level display is located on the front of the unit. Refill the water tank when water level is low. Do not fill water above the Max water level mark. Check water level in the tank before running the ''COOL'' function. Please be sure water in the tank is always above minimum water level mark. Running the unit with inadequate water may cause pump failure. If ice is available you may add ice in the top compartment to enhance the cooling performance.

As soon as the water inside the tank reaches the maximum level, the float valve inside the water tank will stop the in-flow of in the water tank.Due to the float valve and continuous supply of water. The water tank in this model will never be empty and will refill on its own as soon as the float wall goes below the desired level of maximum water inside the tank.

WARNING

CLEANING & DRAINING THE WATER TANK

••

••

11

Turn the power "off" and disconnect the unit from power supply.Move the unit to a location where it can be drained and remove the drainagetube/cap (see parts description on page 7).Once the tank is empty, refill with clean water and drain it again. This should be repeated weekly to maintain the integrity of the unit and to remove particles filtered from the air.Install the clean water tank to its original position and fill clean water inside the tank.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning the unit, switch it to the ''off'' position and remove the plug from the power socket. To clean the outside, use a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust.Never use corrosive elements or any chemicals to clean this product. When the product is not in use, store the unit in a dry place out of direct sunlight.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

MAINTAINING AND CHANGING THE HONEYCOMB

••

12

This unit is supplied with three (3) Honeycomb Cooling Media's located on the back &two sides. The removal procedure for all the media's is same as explained above.

NOTE:

Hand ScrewHand Screw

Honeycomb Holder

Side PanelFig.1

The appliance is supplied with Honeycomb cooling media. The cleaning frequency for the Honeycomb media depends on local air and waterconditions. In areas where the mineral content of water is high, mineral depositsmay build up on the honeycomb cooling media and restrict air flow. Draining thewater reservoir and refilling with fresh water at least once a week will help reduce mineral deposits. If mineral deposits remain on the Honeycomb media, the media should be removed and washed under fresh water. The media should be cleaned every two months or sooner, depending on your needs.Do not run the unit in COOL mode with stale water in the tank. It is recommendedto empty the tank and refill it with fresh water if the water has been standing in the tank for an extended period of time. For best results, allow the honeycomb cooling media to dry after each use by turning off the cool function 15 minutes before turning the unit off.To change the Honeycomb, remove the hand screws which hold the side panel(Refer Fig.1). Remove the Honeycomb holder and replace the Honeycomb.Refix theHoneycomb holder and screw back the panel to the unit.
