USER

CONCEPTHow can a commuter employ both a vehicle and a cycle into their everyday commute?

How can an emotional connection be created between a user and a product they do not own?

Urban commuters who like f lexibility, and view health as a fashion statement.

“I love cycling to work, but what happens if it starts raining???”

USER

CONCEPTA vehicle offering f lexibility to the urban resident.

A commuter micro vehicle.A utility vehicle for transporting small goods.A fold up vehicle for small footprint parking solutions.

Centre city residents. No parking. No space. Need for efficiency.

“Who will use this?”

This consumer will not own mul-tiple vehicles, this will be their only one.

In this case, f lexibility is extreme-ly important as the needs of the driver change from commute to storage to parking.

Page 23: Portfolio 2011

Potential for storing items in rear is fully open to the user. Including weather proof options.

Page 27: Portfolio 2011

USER

CONCEPTRe-invent a New Zealand racing brand to tribute the 50th Anniversary of Bruce McLarens death.

A transition vehicle.

Designed to bridge the gap from internal combustion engines to electric power for the club racer/supercar purist.

Traditional Sunday racers, old school supercar aficionados

the ballpark

InspirationIn 1966 Bruce McLaren formed

McLaren Racing Ltd In Auckland, New Zealand!!!

Page 29: Portfolio 2011

the ballpark I beg an this concept by envisioning a rear wheel which would allow a full variation of traction by rotation around a stationary centre point. The tyre is now a track which makes this possible.

And because it is elliptical the whole rear of the vehicle can raise or lower..increasing and decreasing the drag coefficient.

some innovation! TO START OFF...

Elliptical wheels??

“but..whats the point??”

Max traction - low drag Low fiction - normal drag

physical MODEL

Dont like dust? Chuck the cover on it!

“Hey....where’s the roof?”

This concept is inspired by the leg-endary Can AM racers of the 60’s.

They didnt have roofs..so why should mine?

In January 2010 my model was displaed in the Bruce McLaren Festival of Speed.

Viewed by ex Ferrari F1 driver Cris Amon and McLaren Motorsport co-founder Phil Kerr, this was an incredible experience.

USER

CONCEPTWhat will be the first racing series for electric vehicles?

How will the lack of mechanics and engine allow for development of a vehicles size and driver position?

Competiton drivers. Companies seeking footing in the electric car ‘revolution.’

“Here’s a good one..an Electric race car!”

USER

CONCEPTThe centre of the fast growing city of Auckland, New Zealand, has been closed to all privately owned transport.

Supplemented by an induction highway and symbolic new bridge, a pod-train network is introduced for all commuting to, from, and within the centre.

Everyday commuters to/from the city. Taxi, small distance idividuals within the city.

“A train, a bridge AND an induction highway??”

Page 46: Portfolio 2011

Current situation Old trains

City split into two

Page 47: Portfolio 2011

“What’s the solution?”

Pod trains designed to act individually or in trains depending on traffic needs.
