Logo and branding

The examples to the right were work done for a client and professor respectively. The first set was for a client who wished for a logo and identity for her local baking/pastry shop. “The Garden of Eden Delicacies” focused on the color red and yellow to emphasize sweets and craving.

The icons were created for a class during my Spring semester of Sophomore year. We were given the task to render icons using Adobe Illustrator CS6 that signified a whole day of our life.

Posters

(left) During the Fall Semester of my Sophomore year (2013), I was given the task to create a template of a 3D rendered mythical creature. I chose the Phoenix. In addition to that, I was to place this tem-plate on an 18 x 24 inches poster, organizing it in a clean and concise manner using grids and different colors.

(right) Spring semester (2014)- a psychogeographic map of the city of Richmond with a focus on Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black colors.

Both posters were done using Adobe Photoshop Illustrator CS6 and Adobe Photoshop CS6 respec-tively.

AVENIR

AVENIR was born within the ashes of immortality and burns as bright as the sun. Watching over the mortal world is a past timefor this persistent and ever glowing monster. Avenir is not much for small talk, but he will charge straight through if given a task to handle.

Start by cutting out all of the parts necessary to build the monster. Cut around the grey lines.

Take Figure 1 (the body) and fold the grey tabs inward. Take an x-acto knife and cut the blacklines. You will insert the wings here later. Fold each white line.

Take Figure 2 (the neck) and fold the grey tabs inward. InsertFigure 2 into Figure 1.

Take Figure 3 (the head) and foldalong the grey lines. Cut the blackline, the hair will be attached later. Insert Figure 3 into Figure 1.

Take Figure 4 (the hair), fold the grey tab and insert unto the top of the head. Take Figure 5 and Figure 6, fold the grey tabs on each and insert the wings on either side of the monster.

Lastly, take Figure 7, fold the 3 grey tabs, put put glue and insertthem into the smaller opening. Youhave the option of making a standfor the gure.

Spring Semester, 2014 – a street vernacular of a street in the city of Richmond, VA. A basic hierarchy was us used to create this poster. tyPograPhic manifesto

Design manifesto emphasizing on the idea that digital design is not to be feared, but embraced. The process reflects this objective by being created using Adobe Illustrator CS6.

In Graphic Design, the word computer is often feared. If the art of designing is a form of expression, then why are designers being ripped off of complete liberty to express their artistic integrity through digital design?

It is imperative for designers to acquire the skills and experiences of the computer to complement the artistic approach to digital design. Computers are not merely toolsprovided by a group of intelligent men and women to aid the population with their daily deeds. In art and design, acomputer is a world. Within this world, the ways of creating art is unfathomable. The potential that is hidden within a small machine is endless.

Software programming was created to provided designers with the essentials to push their artistry forward. The design process does not stop once a designer enters the world of computers. The interface is built in a way that allows the user to fully engage in their projects. Other tools, such as a tablet, can also provide a digitized pencil and paper to aid the design process, very much like how it is done traditionally.

The computer has given designers the advantage of having a wider set capabilities to explore and experiment with their artistic vision. Such capabilities shall provide a designer with a much wideraudience to visually communicate with.

Learning the skills necessary to control the computer will always work to a designer’s advantage, especially in a world that is constantly revolving around them. Many designs and contemporary graphics are design with the Internet in mind. Employers look for designers that are equipped with computer skills and experiences to develop their businesses and products.

The computer is a constant developing world that provides designers with different mediums to work with. With such a vast environment, creation is easier, exible and more efcient.

Rejecting the computer before realizing its true potential is a degeneration of the design process. Therefore, a degeneration of design.

web design and web deveLoPment

These are some examples of web design and web development works that I have done in the past decade. The contents range from fan focused media content and portfolio websites (that are now shut down for personal reasons, but will be back up once I jumpstart my career financially).

The types of sites vary from forum message boards, wordpress, tumblr and codes from scratch.

They provide a clear improvement and I continue to learn about different parts of hypertext and markup languages on a daily basis.
