he nature of a Library is one of informational intrenchment. It should be a place were one can come and obtain the requided knowledge as efficently as possible. This library has walls that hold the rather large selection of rare architectural manustripts, as well as maintain the capacity to hold the seating and restrooms .The walls are so versitile that even the electrical, mechanical and plumbing elements are retained. The egress of the library is one of force as well as ease. Taking a que of the old addage “the hardest part of learing is opening the book” the visitor must push open a massive rammed earth door that has the ability to swing freely but safely with the use of ball bearing to reduse friction. The journey to and through the library is one of scale and preportion. The massive walls can look so natural from different views. Marfa Texas has a beauitful flat, desert like surface that can be good for adobe bricks or rammed earth. The weather conditions year around a maderate consider-ing the odd storm here and there adn there are virturly no secimic activity.
