I’m inspired by interaction time in phenomenology and the rhythm of time. In my process, I experienced transformation. What I thought was an old and tattered spider’s nest turned into a home of birth and death before my eyes. Like this cycle, each stitch of calico comes together for the first time to make a new whole. Like a dream. Is it happening now? ... The past and the present fuse as one. A state of awareness. My repetition is another’s rest.

"Clothing Lawyers" is elegant everyday menswear garments made from secondhand sleeping bags. Ending in a pop-up-shop, the project is upcycling of secondhand clothes for young people with a refugee background. It aimed to create a rewarding intercultural meeting and gave participants the opportunity to select a piece of clothing that they felt comfortable in, because it matched their identity and meet their needs.

Biomimicry is a new science that studies nature’s models and then imitates or takes inspiration from these designs and processes to solve human problems. In material design, I chose to work with apple pulp because I could see potential for innovation in it and was inspired. Champagne glasses were a great fit for this material because they stayed true to the apple as an edible and biodegradable product.
