GAME SUMMARY & FLOW• GAME SUMMARY

• ACCELERATOR JOE IS A MAN WITH A DREAM OF BEATING HIS FATHER’S WORLD RECORD ON THE WORLD’S MOST INFAMOUS AND DANGEROUS TRACK, DANGER FREEWAY. ACCELERATOR JOE HAS DEVISED A PLAN TO REACH CERTAIN CHECKPOINTS ON DANGER FREEWAY IN ORDER TO BEAT HIS DAD’S RECORD, HOWEVER IT WON’T BE A SIMPLE TASK. DANGER FREEWAY IS A DANGEROUS, UNMAINTAINED ROAD WITH BOULDERS, OIL SPILLS, BROKEN ROAD, SECRET PASSAGES AND DEAD ENDS. HELP ACCELERATOR JOE ACHIEVE HIS DREAM BY AVOIDING OBSTACLES, REACHING THE CHECKPOINTS, AND FINDING THE SECRET SHORTCUTS THAT WILL HELP HIM SUCCEED

• GAME FLOW• THE PLAYER WILL BE ON A FAST PACED COURSE

VIEWING FROM A TOP DOWN PERSPECTIVE. THEY WILL HAVE TO MAINTAIN SPEED WHILE AVOIDING RANDOMLY GENERATED OBSTACLES ON THE ROAD, BY MANEUVERING WITH THE ARROW KEYS. THERE ARE NO PUZZLES JUST QUICK THINKING SKILLS. AS THE PLAYER HITS MORE CHECKPOINTS THE CLOSER THEY ARE TO BEATING THE GAME, THE GAME DOES NOT SAVE AT THE CHECKPOINTS THOUGH, THEY RESET THE TIME. THE PLAYER SHOULD GRADUALLY BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO AVOID EACH OBSTACLE WHILE GOING FAST. IF THE PLAYER REACHES ALL THE CHECKPOINTS THEN THEY WIN THE GAME

CHARACTER & CONTROLS

ACCELERATOR JOE IS A 25 YEAR OLD MAN, WHO’S OBSESSED WITH RACING. ACCELERATOR JOE WAS BORN

IN A RACING FAMILY, AND HE ALWAYS LOOKED UP TO HIS DAD ACCELERATOR DAN, WHO HELD THE FASTEST

RACE RECORD FOR THE DANGER FREEWAY IN THE WORLD. WHEN HE FINALLY BECAME OLD ENOUGH TO DRIVE, ACCELERATOR JOE BECAME DETERMINED TO DEFEAT HIS DAD’S RECORD ON DANGER FREEWAY. ACCELERATOR JOE IS AN EAGER, DETERMINED GUY,

FACING CHALLENGES HEAD ON. ACCELERATOR JOE IS JUST AN GOOD RACER WITH NO SPECIAL ABILITIES

THE PLAYER CAN USE THE ARROW KEYS OR WASD KEYS TO MOVE ACCELERATOR JOE.

GAME PLAY• THE GAME STARTS AT THE STARTING LINE AT DANGER FREEWAY, WITH FANS CHEERING

ON ACCELERATOR JOE. IT IS A STRAIGHT ROAD SO THE PLAYER ONLY NEEDS TO ACCELERATE FOR THE FIRST COUPLE SECONDS. THE SIDES OF THE ROAD IS FILLED WITH DIRT AND SAND. AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS THERE WILL BE OBSTACLES GENERATED, BUT EASILY AVOIDABLE, AS THE GAME GOES ON HOWEVER THEY BECOME INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO EVADE. THE PLAYER ONLY HAS 1 MINUTE 30 SECONDS TO GET TO EACH CHECKPOINT AND WHEN THEY DO REACH THE CHECKPOINT, AS INDICATED BY A FLAG, THE TIME WILL RESET TO 1 MINUTE 30 SECONDS. EACH CHECKPOINT IS FURTHER THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE WAS TO IT, MEANING THE PLAYER WILL NOT ONLY NEED TO AVOID ALL THE OBSTACLES BUT MAINTAIN AN INCREDIBLY FAST PACE. THERE ARE SECRET PASSAGES BUT THEY ARE VERY WELL CONCEALED AND WOULD PROBABLY REQUIRE MULTIPLE PLAYTHROUGHS BEFORE BEING DISCOVERED.

GAME WORLD• GAME WORLD

• THE GAME WORLD IS A SIMPLE ONE, IT IS A LONG ROAD, WITH HIDDEN SHORTCUTS, AND DIRT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD. DANGER FREEWAY IS THE MOST DANGEROUS ROAD IN THE WORLD SO THERE ARE SIGNS SAYING “CAUTION” AND “DO NOT ENTER”. THE ROAD IS OLD AND UNMAINTAINED. THE SHORTCUTS ARE HIDDEN DIRT PATHS, THAT ARE NOT VERY NOTICEABLE, BUT ARE SECRETLY INDICATED BY THE ENVIRONMENT BY SIGNS, OR ODDLY PLACED PLANTS.• DANGER FREEWAY IS IN THE DESERT SO SANDY, DIRT LIES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD, AND

OCCASIONALLY SPILLS OUT ON THE TRACK (DECORATIVE, NOT AN OBSTACLE). THERE ARE OCCASIONAL CACTUS, AND SIGNS BUT THE MAIN FOCUS IS THE ROAD ITSELF.• THERE IS AN EXCITING TONE, WITH INTENSE CAR SOUNDS AND EXCITING MUSIC, MAKING THE

PLAYER WANT TO GO SONIC FAST (2FAST5ME) ON THE COURSE• THE WORLD IS PRIMARILY ONE WINDY ROAD WITH OCCASIONAL HIDDEN SHORTCUTS

WE SEE A QUICK THOUGHT BOX WITH ACCELERATOR JOE CLAIMING TO WANT TO BEAT HIS DAD’S RECORD ONE DAY, THEN THERE IS A TIME SKIP AND WE SEE AN ADULT ACCELERATOR JOE WITH A THOUGHT BOX SAYING “TODAY IS THE DAY!”
