180 deep x 24mm thick mahogany bolted on either side of 2mm thick aluminium section

50 x 80 x 2mm thick aluminium door stile

This is a double leaf aluminium frame casement door composite with a 1.8m wide sliding window and 0.3mm wide permanent aluminium louvre vents to the side & 171 deep x 32mm thick melamine faced mdf boards planks, with an aluminium door frame. This door with louvres to the side is ideal for Kampala tropic weather as it allows for constant air circulation.

B- this space creates a ‘semi-solid’ connection to the boulevard drive. The enclosing of the trees with a glass wall addition-ally expresses the impor-tance of ‘preserving the green’ in design; while giving the user a ‘court-yard’ within the space.

users have a view into the open kitchen space through an aluminium leaf-pattern inspired railing.

spaces are defined by design elements brought together to create an installation to the landscape while giving the users a view into the landscape of the site

to design a small capacity Kindergarten, for the children of the occupants of the existing Bugolobi flats in Kampala

designing the building to be an installa-tions rather than a mass; and still make it a landscape enhancement rather than an addition

using permeable elements to create a visual connection to the site

with a site that is just adjacent to a major access road, and with a small acreage, the proposal was to have drive-by park-ing; where a tutor stands by the main entrance to receive children
