The basic idea of the Master Thesis is the question of the positive effect of architecture. Therefore the architectural and social impacts of public buildings to city areas with a weak socail structurr were studied. The starting point of the design was the analysis of an area in the south east of Berlin, right on the boarder of two dictricts (Neukölln & Treptow Köpenick) concerning the architectural needs and and social requirements of the people. One main question was how the architectural and city planing mechanisms are working in that certain area and which
results can be expected. Furthermore the research was about to counter the individualization of the society with a new central meeting point which does not only consists of public buildings but reaches the demands of a large scale city. Architectural and social integration are the base of the design.
The combination of city library, a youth art school, a multifunctional/music area and a seminar/consulation center is the extension of the already existing public institution in the district. By using clear design methods a new center, the „Center House“ is developed.

Urban Interface | „Alvar Aalto Award 2009“ | competition | 1. Prize Bremen, Germany | 2009Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Herbert BühlerCooperation with Moritz Cramer (M.A.) and Julian Vogt (M.A.)
The task of the competition was to redevelop the district Tenever in Bremen (Germany). The whole area is domonated by high rise buildings from the 1970´s. Not only the architctural differences but the cultural backround of the inhabitants are the base of the design.By designing a new public space, a square for everybody in Tenever we wanted to create an urban
interface for the district. Through its individuality and quality of the urban design and its functions, the building works as a communication zone. A market hall, a library and a center for the local administration, an international restaurant and youth center are located under the concrete stripes.

TrinityA new structure for a sacral hall
During my Bachelor Thesis I firstly was focused on buidling of churches in general and later on the churches of the german architect Carsten Schröck. The base for a architectural and philosphical reseach on the church interior. The task of the Bachelor Thesis was the renewal of the main church hall of the Dietrich-B o n h o e f fe r - C h u rc h in Bremen, Germany. To do so the existing gallery was removed and replaced by a new construction which
fits into extroverted structure. It is a connection between the octagonal floorplan to the double curved steelnet-roof. Like that a new lounge space is created on the gallery and below a new chapell which can be seperated by movable walls. The discussion about the work of Carsten Schröck, the outstanding architecture and construction of the church made the design so interesting.

The design for a new pavilion at the Bien-nale in Venice terain serves as an internati-onal exhibition space for creative students from around the world. The building is adjacent to the Australian pavilion next to the canal and forms the transition between land and water. Four vertical concrete walls form the main structure and are parallel to
the channel-orien-ted. The visitor can experience different spatial sequences of narrow, long and open spaces, which are typical of Venice. This way guides vi-sitors over ramps to the exhibition area and up to a viewing platform over the channel from which the water and the environment can be overlooked.

The new residential building on Hoheluft-chaussee 99 in Ham-burg underlines the local current urban development. A to-tal of five floors with two-room apartments (40-50m2) and a pen-thouse (5th floor), ac-cessed via a main stair-case and porticoes. The groundfloor houses a restaurant. The housing strategy provides small residential units, mainly aimed at single house-
holds. With a planned clear ceiling height of about 2.65 m and an average to superior equipment, the units correspond to „New Standard“. The facades with plaster and clinker surfaces, blends har-moniously into the en-vironment. Inside ma-terials such as exposed concrete ceilings, in-dustrial parquet, steel, and metal components are used.

The former electricity and Harbour Administration in Hamburg is rebuilt accor-ding to plans by Bolles + Wilson to a hotel (25hrs). During the reconstruction near the monument espe-cially the structural condi-tions of the 100 year old building must be observed. The ground floor accommo-dates the restaurant, recep-tion and hotel rooms in the southern part. These then are located from the first to third floor. In addition,
a two-storey extension on the west side of the south wing will house a retail spa-ce. A particular challenge were the requirements of a hotel and the old buildings structure. In addition to foundation reinforcements new walls, ceiling and di-verse steel structures were installed later. New copper roof and escape staircases complete the conversion. In March 2016, the hotel and the adjacent retail space iwere opened.

118 new apartemnts are planed at the Jenfelder Au in the north-east of Hamburg. Former military barracks were removed and a whole new twon area is build. Our part consists of nine house from whice Spine Ar-chitects design and construct five. Row and family houses wirth three to four rooms are arranged around a public courtyard which covers the underground parking deck. By using diffenrenmt types of bricks ont the street fascades and plaster in various colors we created individual adresses for each house. Residential buildings & town planing Dudenweg | Hamburg
Tasks: Concept & Design

Tasks: Concept & Design
Competiton | 06-08/2016 Competiton | 06/2016
The competition at the Dudenweg in north-east of Hamburg con-sisted of the concept and design 14 residential buildings within an existing residential area front eh 1950´s. The aim was to use the exis-ting town shape and to create a small town character. By mixing dif-ferent house and flat sizes a varity for the people is given. Rowhouses and family houses can be differt by the roof types but are alligned with brick fascades. Public green spaces and the reuse of existing small buidlings for the community give the area an open and family friendly atmosphere.
The open idea comeptition for the island Poveglia in the laguna of Venice was about creating a new university campus within the existing old hospital from the 1800´s. Our idea was to connect the old buildings with a new constructional net and cre-ate one buidling including indoor and outdoor spcaes. The old infrastructure be-comes a part of the new capmus and show an interesting contrast. For sports and leisure the rest of the islanf stays free and nature can grow. The idea of a net is inspired by the plants which overgrow the abandon buidlings. Like this the aim of a well connected learning space and the integration of nature is succefull.
