PAVILION DESIGN

This project consisted on the design of a pavilion space that can accommodate numerous different functions an exploration of spaces. The design of the pavilion itself is based on the idea of lightness and simplicity, with a combination of translucent materials, open spaces and elevated platforms. There is an exploration of materiality and what it can create through the different spaces.

MUSEUM DESIGN

5 6

This project consisted of the design of a museum at a specific site in Savannah, GA. The museum was designed with the purpose of exhibiting photographic art. The concept of the form was derived from the camera obscura and the transformation from an outdoor scenery into a sharp reproduction of said scenery. The first floor of the museum is all exhibition space, and underneath the building there is a small theatre for the projection of special photographic art works. The roof of the building is made of a translucent material that allows light into the building while still being covered with louvers to regulate the entrance of light.

HIGH RISE DESIGN

9 10

The design of this project consisted of the exploration of underground spaces along with the development of a high rise building. The program of the building includes an art gallery, a restaurant, a gift shop and a coffee shop. The underground is an inversion of the connicle shape that is above ground. The high rise has terraces that are directed towards the areas with the best views of the city, while still not overshadowing other close-by buildings like the SCAD Museum of Modern Art. The user has an interesting experience going through the building as they transition from underground, to inside and finally to open terraces.

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN

13 14

The purpose of this project is to design a residential home that has an approximate square footage of 20,000 square feet. The site is in Lake Tahoe, California, very close to South Lake Tahoe City. The site provides easy access to main roads, the beach, and a national forest while still remaining relatively secluded hence allowing for more privacy. The home itself has three levels and it’s terraced downwards due to the slope of the terrain. The main access is on the top floor, from which the occupants descend to access the other levels of the home. The transition form one level to the other goes form public, semi-public and private spaces. The openings and terraces allow the occupants to enjoy the best views of the lake.
