VISION FORTHE FUTURE
These hand-drawn costume designs may be seen as a vision for the future. In a time of crisis and overall depression, I plead for a visual culture that evokes the suggestion of a new flourishing prosperity and welfare.
The costumes are inspired by aesthetics deriving from more florishing periods from the past and other personal fascinations. A synergy of excessive detail, ornaments, sci-fi aesthetics and narcissism.

COSTUMEDESIGN
For the Indian Summer Festival 2013,I designed and made this costume. I silkscreen printed all the textiles by hand, to create unique materials. I did
thorough research on patterns and materials by making a wide range of test prints. At the festival I performed in the costume during the Art Parade.

AVATARRANDOMIZER
For this assignment I created a banner concept for my website. With each new visit or by reloading the page, a fresh image is being
generated. The image is build up out of elements that derive from a database filled with my fascinations. No visit will ever be the same.

SELFDEPRECATION
2011, DESIGN ACADEMY EINDHOVEN
Somewhat strange perhaps, I discovered I find it very pleasurable to ridicule myself.
Over and over again, I see it coming back as a tendency in my work. My face as a tool for all sorts of applications.

LIVINGDOMESTIC OBJECT
I invented a living domestic object. By making it alive, the user is forced to take genuine care over the object. If not, it will die. The object has need for affection, nutrition
and daily walks, just like a normal pet. The appearance of the object is shaped by the way it is being maintained. When the object dies, it can’t be fixed again.

SENSUALSHAPES
I participated in a bronze workshop. Bronze is a material which is mostly casted as a shell. Therefore I wanted to create hollow shapes. I was intrigued by the visual tension of blown-up shapes.
I started making plaster molds of blown up condoms. By casting hot wax in these molds, I created a large variety of loose parts. By melting them togheter in all sorts of ways, I developed a whole series of sensual shapes.
