Natalia Deen Portfolio Website Project Statement: For this project, I need to create myself a mock-up of a portfolio website, because, quite simply, I do not have one and could definitely use one! I want a site to show off my old work in hopes to acquire new work. I want to target a younger professional crowd, in approximately the 22-35 year age group, with a bold, fun, and energetic style. Ideally, I’d like to grab the attention of the music industry, as I have always been extremely inspired by album covers, concert posters, and of course listening to music as well. I’d also like to attract other creative individuals; basically professionals who would like to stand out in their field. After a user experiences my website, I’d ideally like them to contact me for work, or at least have them remember it as something a little different. During the use of my site, I’d like the user to be intrigued; I want to lead them in a direction that makes them want to look at more of my work. After someone consciously decides to look at more, the more likely it’ll be for them to remember my work or my name, and above all, I’d like the person to be intrigued enough to tell someone else about it. Like I had previously said, I was this to be bold, and fun, and I am aware that some of my work can be described as soft, or cute, which may not be ideal for a lot of people who want to come off “strong”. This however is just a lack of material on my part, and in the building of my site, I definitely intend to intensify the look of my work. Also, some bold, fun things can be chaotic, as well, which is not very business-like, and I do want to strive for a more professional look. With this in mind, I think I’m going to limit my “fun” attributes to highlights in the page instead of making it too overwhelming. I don’t think I’ll attack any beliefs really. Although I do have one potentially politically-offensive piece (lets just say those in favor of the republican party wouldn’t find it as humorous as some of my peers did), however I wasn’t planning on including it in the site for that very reason. Otherwise I can’t think of much that could be offensive. Once making a name for myself, I would let my guard down on some political or religious remarks, but until then I should leave more options open for myself. As far as key benefits go, this is more of a pitch to myself; I know I need this to promote myself, and so I’m going to do it, but I suppose for others it may be that I’m young and fun, but professional enough to meet all your graphic design needs! Project Statement:

For this project, I need to create myself a mock-up of a portfolio website, because, quite simply, I do not have one and could definitely use one!
