Reynoldstown StationSenior Project | University of Georgia
For our senior project, we were tasked to focus on a portion of the Beltline, and more specifically, a neighborhood that could benefit from revitilization. I designed the station and surround-ing amenities to reflect the exisiting character of Reynoldstown, with its strong industrial heritage. My design’s purpose was threefold: to blend into the existing tapestry of the community using local building materials, to create connectivity and pedes-tian access with a boardwalk and sky walks to the station, and to implement LID principles and practices.

GRADING PLAN | AUTOCAD
DESCRIPTION | Riverview is a large mixed use development project in Gwinnett county that Planners and Enginneers is doing Civil Engineering and land Planning work on. The goal of the client is to make a singular desination in the county of Gwinnett utilizing the principals of New Urbanism. Over my summer intership and afterwards as an independent contractor I helped PEC and the client envision the streetscape experience of portions of the devel-opement. Using Sketchup I modeled the portions of the developement based on case studies of Mixed Use New Urban Developements like Seaside and created exmple images and finally a animated flythrough of the above portion.
Riverview Town Center Internship | Planners and Engineers Collaborative
After my 4th year, I was excited to intern with Planners and Enginners Collaborative, a firm in Norcross, Georgia which recently celebrated its 50th year in business. Jon Howard and Kenneth Wood oversaw my work in doing permitting plans, streetscape plans and presentation material. The last project I designed over my 5th year for a large mixed use development project in Gwinnett county called Riverview. Mr. Wood and I worked together, and I created the streetscape plans for the initial design phase. The design was modeled on other mixed use developements like Seaside and we designed the streetscape carefully to encourage walkability and create a friendly environment for the pedestrian.
Cleveland Road School GardenIndependent Project | The University of Georgia
The Cleveland Road School Garden was an independent study under my professor, Brad Davis, who has extensive experience with community design projects. The site was a grass island near the front of the school which had creosote railroad tie beds. The final design created a garden with three distinct spaces. The central garden included an en-trance, an outdoor classroom, raised vegetable beds, and fruit trees. The forest garden included native trees, shrubs, and perennials found in local piedmont forests. The rose garden had a cutting garden and a butterfly garden with plants which provided food for caterpillars as well as pol-linators. After the presentation of the plan, I collaborated with teacher Kay Parrish to get grants, volunteer dates and donations and install portions of the garden over the next two years. The garden is still ongoing.

Albemarle Pool HouseLandscape Designer | The Grow Co.
The Albemarle Pool House was a project I was a part of while working with Cabel Cox at the Grow Co. The property is in Western Albermarle and has a fantastic view of the Blue Ridge, and a classic Virginia landscape. i worked with Cabel to gen-erate initial concepts for redoing the existing pool patio and incorporating a new outdoor pavilion. This model was one of two options for siting the pavilion for the client to review. Con-struction was completed on this project summer 2013.
Glenwood Park Pool Project Manager | Dargan Landscape Architects
At the end of this summer, Dargan Landscape Architects collaborated with Thrasher Pool and Spa to design a pool and spa and the necessary permitting plans for Atlanta. The design was particularly challenging because of the limited space in the yard due to a large retaining wall. The final design included a raised spa and pool beam with sheer descent water features and LED lighting effects, a beach entry with flagstone treads and stairs to the full pool, and a flagstone patio. This project is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by late spring of this year.

Historical Restoration ProjectsApprentice | McRaven Restorations After graduation, I worked part time for Eric Bolton, a Charlottesville contractor whose previous work includes restoring the award winning Gibson Sowell House at Mitchie Tavern. Over the course of the of the apprenticeship, I helped restore and repair the following: a 1700s log cabin in the Shenandoah Valley, dry-stack fieldstone walls at a Charlottesville residence, and a standing seam roof for a historic carpenter gothic church in Orange County Virginia. The experience of working alongside a talented craftsman was invaluable for my future career.
