Obey all speed signs, because speed may be reduced for your safety and the safety of workers. Double your following distance. Don’t tailgate. Get in the correct lane well in advance. Remember, work zone traffic lanes often are narrow, without shoulders or emergency lanes. When possible, move over to give workers more room between them and your vehicle. Be aware of temporary construction accesses on either side of the roadway. Steer clear of construction vehicles and don’t follow them as they travel into and out of the work areas. 3. Interstate 5 (Pacific Highway) — Pave five miles of I-5 and build climbing lanes on Roberts Mountain, about five miles south of Roseburg. Intermittent lane and shoulder closures. Completion: 6/2021.

4. Interstate 5 (Pacific Highway) — Rebuild southbound ramps, add turn lanes, replace traffic signals and sidewalks at Harvard interchange, Exit 124. Ramp closures, detours and minor delays. Completion: 10/2019.

5. Interstate 5 (Pacific Highway) — Paint and repair steel on Vets Bridge in Roseburg, MP 124.5. Intermittent pedestrian delays on walkway under bridge deck. Completion: 9/2019.

6. Interstate 5 (Pacific Highway) — Improve pedestrian access and upgrade wheelchair accessible curb ramps at three major interchanges in Salem: Mission Street (OR 22), Market Street (OR 213), and Portland Road (OR 99E), between MP 253.9 –258.6. Single lane closures with traffic controlled by flaggers. Delays up to 20 minutes. Completion: 6/2019.

7. Interstate 5 (Pacific Highway) — Raise bridge end panels to improve ride conditions on four bridges in Salem on I-5 from State Street to Silverton Road overcrossings, MP 254.7 - 257.5. Nighttime closures, lane restrictions and detours weeknights during construction. Expect some delays. Completion: 9/2019.

Temporary lane closures or restrictions on bridges where railing is being replaced. Traffic controlled by flaggers or detoured around the construction. Completion: Summer 2019.
