site mersin - a 40km long mediteranean city, an industrial portuar y area which ser ves the entire region, a moving city centre, an obsession for modernitythe chosen site - a walk from south to norht, from the sea up to the poor neighborhoods in the north, a site between the old and the new city centre

constraints the fading traditions, the invasion of gated communities and shopping malls, the pollution , the large number of syrian refugees

concep t starting with 5 micro-projects (conceived during the workshop - november 2013), I have chosen one central project to be developed (kiremithane)alongside three satellite projects _ I have analysed 5 different evolution scenarios of this neighborhood, depending on the inter vention (or lack of) of different actors, based on urban and social obser vations

site an entirelly informal city, developped around the international airport of La Paz, on the Al t iplano (4200m d’al t itude), with a ver y dr y and rough climate

constraints the climate, the poverty, the local building techniques and traditions

concep t densify the banks of Rio Seco, a river that crosses the city from north to south _ create a network of public places in order to decongest the city centre found on the eastern extremity of the city (the limit between the two cit ies, El Al to and La Paz, a geographical and social limit - 500m of al t itude between the two) _ take advantage of the cement factor y in southern El Al to to create prefabricated living units _ propose a mixed-use public function for an abandoned factor y close to the university (municipal librar y / party room)

prograM transform a classroom of the french highschool ‘farhat Hached’in a theatre/cin-ema room _ 50 students _ 3 days of conception _ 10 days of building

site the former festivit ies room of the highschool, situated on the first f loor, opening to-wards a large terrace constraints a budget of 10.000 euros ( including the video/audio systems) _ difficul t ies of f inding materials (roundtrips to Tunis ever yday)

concep t using repurposed materials (old chairs for the metallic structure + wooden palets) for most of the classroom (the seating) and working with the existing structure of the class-room _ signalization of the classroom ( light, painting, yellow entrance pavil lion)

prograM 50 appartements + shops

site a site in the peripher y of Bucharest, situated between three areas - a former industrial area (train factor y) + a residential neighborhood + communist housing units constraints reconcile these three areas, propose an al ternative to the so-called ‘match-box’ appartments of the communist era, create a transit ion between the public and private space

concep t big concrete houses, as a synthesis of the urban analysis _ the ground floor con-sists of duplexes, each with its own garden, which open towards semi-public squares. The block is delimited by the vegetalised ventilation holes of the parking underneath. On the eastern part of the site, a librar y opens towards the boulevard

site a site in the central area of Bucharest, opened towards two streets, surrounded by his-torical buildings (houses + appartment blocks)

constraints the laws of patrimonial protection do not al low a height greater than 1 f loor - which can cause a difficul ty in creating a visual link with the surrounding buildings

concep t linear volumes which open towards the two streets, generating interior and exte-rior playgrounds _ this configuration allowed the creation of several courtyards with differ-ent functions _ the interior spaces, with its large window and interior courtyards give the impression of being outside
