Tide gauge (mareometroa)
The Tide gauge Portugalete is a quaint device, like a clock, used to measure tides. It was installed at the end of spring Churruca (Portugalete) in 1883 and was an essential element for navigation since before the construction of the Iron Pier (1887) was a terrible sand bar that caused the failure of navigation low tide. It is currently operational.
