Portugaletes Bridge

The bridge designed was “MARTIN ALBERTO DE PALACIO” .The bridge celebrated its 116th anniversary on 28th of July.

Salazar Tower

Salazar Tower had a fire in 1934 and it undo ,in 1958 and 1959 “JOAQUIN IRIZAR” restore. Today Tower has got a museum and a restaurant.

Santa Maria church The church's buildin

started in 1322. Then in 1492 started others build of the “SANTA MARIA”.Maria Diaz de Haro ordened build a church “Santa Maria”.The temple was completely finished in 1580.In 1750 build another tower. The church is Gotic form.

Victor Chavarri The monument is in

Solar Esperantsa. The sculptor “Miguel Blay”,opened 23 of December in 1903.The bust is the work of the Gerundens “Miguel Blay”,all the other work is of “Augustin Querol”.

Iron House Located at the entrace

of the municipality by the moyorway.It is know popularly as the “La Rotonda de los Tubos”.The work is of “Agustin Ibarrola”. Represents the industrial development and the city,in iron and in cement.

Monument to “Doña Maria de Haro”

At the intersection of Charles VII and Simon Bolivar streets.Installed in 2002. The work is of Lourdes Umerez. Tribute to the founder of the town. That is represented by the charter in hand.

Monument to the blacksmith

In General Castaños street installed the work in 2002. Lourdes Umerez worked in the work. Tribute to the “siderometalurgicos” workes.

Allegory of the struggle of man with the sea

In the “Pasaleku tap” installed the work in 2002.This work was long in the factory “Aurrera”,until his dispappearance,was later acpuired by the City Council of the Noble Villa of Portugalete.

“Mareometro” Made by the House

Borrel-Wagner,in Paris.It was installed in 1883.Used to know the status of the tides,which was essential for navigation on the river and to save the Portugalete sand bar.
