Manage procurement and arrangements for external contractors such as Security, Fire Protection, Catering through direct and indirect reports. Provide strategic and technical advice to the Executive Leadership Team on Infrastructure Projects and associated works. Key Responsibilities Manages staff to deliver expected service outcomes for Batchelor and Desert Peoples Centre (Campus Operations for Batchelor Institute within the prescribed budget). Manage the implementation of the Institute’s Strategic Infrastructure Plan for Batchelor campus.

Position overviewThe Facilities and Infrastructure Manager provides strategic planning to align the service delivery at Batchelor and Alice Springs campuses to the Institute’s Vision and Strategic Plan; develops both campuses works plans in consultation with external contractors; manages project funding and oversees the day to day operations of the Batchelor and Alice Springs campuses, and the Remote Learning Centres. Manage procurement and arrangements for external contractors such as Security, Fire Protection, Catering through direct and indirect reports. Provide strategic and technical advice to the Executive Leadership Team on Infrastructure Projects and associated works.

Key Responsibilities Manages staff to deliver expected service outcomes for Batchelor and Desert Peoples Centre (Campus

Operations for Batchelor Institute within the prescribed budget). Manage the implementation of the Institute’s Strategic Infrastructure Plan for Batchelor campus. Oversee stocktakes and asset management requirements for the Facilities and Grounds team and of

other areas within the Institute as required. Manages and coordinates regular meetings with direct reports and with staff across other work teams.

Prepares key performance indicators and performance appraisals and assists in the development of training needs for the team.

Prepare financial and asset management reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership Team under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer.

Manages and coordinates the Institute’s procurement through the adherence to the policies and practices of purchasing, Tenders and quotes within the prescribed budget.

Oversees, manages and reviews administration and residential buildings and their security; and where necessary design and implement changes that will best serve the Institute and ensure the health and safety of the students and staff.

Assist the WHS officer to ensure the health and safety policies and practices are adhered to.

Develop training plans to up skill the Facilities and Infrastructure Team to carry out their roles in a safe, effective manner and provide the opportunity for advancement in skills.

Manages and coordinates the work assignments throughout the Institute among vendors and Contractors.

Manage Funding Projects that are within the Division. Participate in relevant committees to contribute to campus operations service delivery across the

Institute. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Executive Officer.

Selection Criteria Essential1. Relevant Trade (AQF Level 3) Qualification, preferably in either a building, electrical, mechanical, or

plumbing field.2. Demonstrated capacity to work within the social, political and cultural environments of Indigenous

Australian communities and organisations.3. Proven ability to lead and coordinate one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibilities,

including cleaning, maintenance, capital upgrades and property management.4. High level communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to consult, negotiate and liaise with

staff and contractors to achieve key performance indicators.5. Proven experience in procurement and financial management with the ability to provide executive level

reporting.6. Possess a current criminal history check or the ability to obtain one.7. Possess a current NT OCHRE Card or the ability to obtain one.8. Current NT Driver’s licence – C class or higher9. Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute

WHS Policies and Procedures.

Selection Criteria Desirable1. Ability to travel by light aircraft, boat or 4WD vehicle to remote communities.2. Tertiary qualifications in project management.3. Experience in managing an educational campus with similar duties and responsibilities.
