This innovative course*, which was

designed to introduce you to the different
ways in which people on the autistic
spectrum experience the world. You will
learn about the history of autism, the
importance of ear ly intervent ion,
education and inclusion, and legislation
and policies that govern best practice
guidelines and models of service. The issue
of mental health and ASD wil l be
examined, and you will also explore how a
person with autism spectrum disorder
(ASD) may contribute positively to society.
“I am really enjoying the course. It has opened my eyes to the basics of autism which can often be forgotten in the hustle and bustle of long hours on the job. I find myself linking traits described in class to scenarios I have experienced and referring to theory I have learnt when reflecting on work situations.”-Amy, Autism Studies Student
