So, it is full of rituals like pre wedding, during wedding and post wedding. It creates a bond of love, care, commitment and relationship among the individuals who become husband and wife thereafter.
Here an attempt is made to acquaint you with post wedding rituals of a perfect Hindu marriage. These may be as follows:
1. Ashirvaad (Blessings)

wife) receives the blessings of the Brahmin who performs the marriage. The guests present at the venue shower flowers along with coloured rice on the couple and bless them for life long happiness.

It is the farewell ceremony of the bride and she leaves her parental family. It is a very emotional moment when there are tears in everyone’s eye present there. The bride has tears in her eyes for leaving her family (where she was born and brought up) and happiness in her heart to start a new life.

When the bride and groom reach the house of the groom, they are welcomed by the ladies and other people of the family of the groom. The wife enters the house of the groom placing right foot first which is considered auspicious. In some cultures, the bride and grooms are not allowed to keep their foot on the ground and they place their feet together in specially made baskets. The keeping foot together symbolises staying together for the rest of life. The mother of the groom performs aarti of the new couple.

the room or place where they perform the worship of home deity together. The mother and other ladies of the family and relations are present there to guide the new couple in performing worship. On the day of the return to groom’s family or on the second day (as suggested by Brahmins), the couple (in some cultures only the groom) goes to the village temples and performs the worship to the village deity.
