“From the Inside” – The Experience of People with Dementia

global advocacy and support group for people living with dementia, and an elected Board member of Alzheimer’s Disease International. Kate is also on a number of national and international Steering committees and Advisory groups, and has a Master of Science in Dementia Care, a Bachelor of Psychology, a BA, and is a retired nurse. Kate is a current PhD Candidate at the University of South Australia, and an Honorary Associate Fellow in the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health at the University of Wollongong.

“From the Outside” – How to Support People with Dementia in the SocietyProf. Timothy Kwok graduated from University of Leicester in the UK and received special-ist training in Geriatric and Internal Medicine in St George’s Hospital in London before returning to Hong Kong, to join the Department of Medicine & Therapeutics in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He obtained his doctorate in Medicine in 2004, and was promoted to professorship in 2006. He is director of Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing, a comprehensive care centre for people with dementia, and the Jockey Club Centre for Osteoporosis Care and Control. His research interests include dementia, fracture prevention, nutrition and physical activity in old age.
