Heartbreak United• Our broadcaster is Channel 5 so that will be our influence for

branding on the poster. • As established in our pitch, Channel 5 currently only broadcast two

Australian soaps; ‘Home and Away’ and ‘Neighbours’ so there is still a gap in the market for a British soap to be aired on Channel 5.

• Channel 5’s branding is a positive influence for our promotion because although not quite as mainstream as BBC or ITV, the logo is still recognised nationwide.

Poster Comparison

Channel 4’s branding across all poster’s including white background surrounding all the text and although not very professional it is a recognisable look across television.

Burning effects emphasises the heated passion and drama that the audience can expect to see when watching.

Image presents the cast as a happy bunch of people without any proper issues which holds back any hint of drama to the audience.

No major effects used on the image other than adjusting it to provide a high quality photo for the audience. Fresh branding of Channel 5

to give broadcaster a new look.

Poster Comparison

Very subtle branding used. As our show is new we will do the opposite to make sure our audience know where to tune in to watch

Use of technological convergence with the hash tag offers audience an opportunity to interact with online discussions with other members of the audience.

White, bold font used to make a clear statement to the audience enticing them into the show.

Black surrounding fading into the image gives a dark tone to it. We want to emphasise the drama in our programme but not put them off with a depressing poster, we want to give the audience a reason to watch.
