Course advice
Redmond Barry Level 12 Tea RoomAll Graduate students have access to the Level 12 Tea Room to use as a space to relax and unwind. If you cannot get in to the tea room, contact enquiry-psych [email protected] or visit reception on Level 12 of Redmond Barry.
Graduate Computer Lab (Level 10)All Graduate students have access to the Computer Lab on Level 10 of Redmond Barry for use between 7am and 7pm. If you cannot get in to the computer lab, contact enquiry-psych [email protected] or visit reception on Level 12 of Redmond Barry.

• Choosing a topic and supervisor (ASAP: should be finalised by end of Week 4 – Semester 1)
• E-mail me by the end of Week 4 Semester 1 to confirm your supervisor and provisional title of thesis (please cc your supervisor into the e-mail).
• Project types: Secondary data analysis, Meta-analysis/ Systematic Reviews, Qualitative/Quantitative/Mixed Methods approach
• Contribution hours for secondary data analysis ???
• Ethics• Students will need to complete ethics requirements• External vs. internal ethics timelines
Year 1 cont.
• Lit review* • 3000 word review of the relevant literature• – due to your supervisor by Friday of Week 1, Semester 2• Supervisor ticks off box at Mini-Conference to indicate that the Review has
been submitted
• Research proposal*• 1500 words• Due at least 1 week prior to mini-conference presentation
• Mini-conference*• 15-20 minute oral presentation in 1st half of Semester 2 (generally Week 2)
• Conversion to PhD
Year 2
• Submission of MPsych thesis • Information available on Thesis (PSYC900095 & 96) Canvas website in
