    Special Requirements for admission into the Master of Architecture program are as the following:

    MALAYSIAN STUDENTS:

    a. A Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Malaya with a CGPA of at least 3.00 with a minimum grade of B for the final Architectural Design Studio course;

    Orb. A Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Malaya with a CGPA of at least 2.75 with

    relevant work experience for a minimum of 6 months after obtaining the degree; And

    i) pass the portfolio interview; Or

    c. A Bachelor of Science/Arts in Architecture or equivalent from any university approved by the Senate as equivalent to a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Malaya with Honours with a CGPA of at least 3.00;

    And i) fulfill the requirements of the Malaysian (RM) Board of Architects (LAM) Part I;

    And ii) have relevant work experience for a minimum of 6 months after obtaining the degree;

    And iii) pass the portfolio review.

    INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

    a. Obtained other qualifications which are equivalent to the University of Malaya General Requirements and Special Requirements for the program which have been approved by the Malaysian Government and the University of Malaya Senate;

Qualifies for registration as a dental practitioner under the Malaysian Dental Act; and4. Local applicant must possess at least a score of 4 for MUET; whilst International applicant must possess

    a score of 550 for paper-based total, a score of 213 for computer-based total for TOEFL; or a band 6 for IELTS (Academic); and

    5. Fulfil the requirement for admission by the relevant department responsible for the programmes of study.

    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (RESEARCH PROGRAMME - MASTERS):

    1. Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent degree in Dentistry, or2. Bachelor’s Degree with honours in any science discipline; and3. Local applicant must possess at least a score of 4 for MUET; whilst International applicant must possess

    a score of 550 for paper-based total, a score of 213 for computer-based total for TOEFL; or a band 6 for IELTS (Academic).

    ADMISSION REQUIREMENT (RESEARCH PROGRAMME - PHD):

    1. Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Medicine or Dentistry field of study; and2. Local applicant must possess at least a score of 4 for MUET; whilst International applicant must possess

  • Programme StructureMode of Study

    Coursework only Candidates are required to acquire a specified number of coursework credits. Certain coursework programmes may require the submission of a research report.

    Clinical Coursework/ Clinical

    Candidates are required to complete coursework credits and be involved in clinical work.

    Mixed-mode Candidates are required to complete coursework credits and to submit a dissertation.

    Research(Dissertation/Thesis)

    Research is the principal requirement and candidates will produce a dissertation or thesis. Candidates may be required to attend some pre-requisite courses as prescribed by the University.

    English Language Requirement (for international candidates)1. Minimum entry requirements for International Candidates writing their Thesis/Dissertation in English:

    (a.) A Band 5.5 IELTS (Academic); or (b.) A score of 550 paper-based total, a score of 213 for computer-based total or a score of 80
