April 6, 2014 Zone: Physical effort: Technical effort: Tabacco Map: / .PDF Guide Park Track The Povoletto - San Daniele - Panoramic route was designed as a training track for the begin of the riding season. It covers the high part of the Friuli region and the hills zone in the East-West way. In fact, the route starts in Povoletto village, in Tarcento village direction. In between the two villages some small hills are gone over, as a warm up phase. Out of Tarcento village, you take the road to Alta Val del Torre (High Torre River Valley), turning after left in Sammardenchia village direction: that road is famous for its slope. Further, there's the descent to return to Tarcento village and so the road to Buja village and the same name hill, with a short uphill and low slope. After watching the nice panorama, the run starts again in Majano village direction. This route part crosses the hills zone of Ragogna village, arriving then to San Daniele town, the western point of the track. The return begins on the panoramic road between San Daniele and Fagagna towns, turning left at half of the road in Colloredo di Prato village direction. This route's part presents some uphills and descents, without high altitude differences. So you reach the Tricesimo town, that had been crosses during outward, and going ahead to Povoletto, the village end of the track. The route has a lot of nice panoramic points: the first part crosses a zone once held by castles, the second part is into the hills region with fine landscapes close to the prealpi (the first Alps line). From the athletic point of view, the route has a lot of uphills, with different length and altitude differences: a best way to test different pedal cadence and resistance times, trying to hold ever a good velocity. At the same time there are some part (quite) in plain where you have to keep an high speed, rest and prepare for the next uphill. Moreover, the track is 92 km long, testing resistance during time and distance. All this can be useful to proof himself to techniques and behaviors different from what used and required for riding mountain bike. Total length of 92km with 850m of elevation gain. Old buildings in Marsure di Sotto village farmland. At Loneriacco village, a few minutes to Tarcento town. The Povoletto - San Daniele - Panoramic route was designed as a training track for the begin of the riding season. It covers the high part of the Friuli region and the hills zone in the

East-West way. In fact, the route starts in Povoletto village, in Tarcento village direction. In between the two villages some small hills are gone over, as a warm up phase. Out of Tarcento

village, you take the road to Alta Val del Torre (High Torre River Valley), turning after left in Sammardenchia village direction: that road is famous for its slope. Further, there's the descent

to return to Tarcento village and so the road to Buja village and the same name hill, with a short uphill and low slope. After watching the nice panorama, the run starts again in Majano

village direction. This route part crosses the hills zone of Ragogna village, arriving then to San Daniele town, the western point of the track.

The return begins on the panoramic road between San Daniele and Fagagna towns, turning left at half of the road in Colloredo di Prato village direction. This route's part presents some

uphills and descents, without high altitude differences. So you reach the Tricesimo town, that had been crosses during outward, and going ahead to Povoletto, the village end of the

track.

The route has a lot of nice panoramic points: the first part crosses a zone once held by castles, the second part is into the hills region with fine landscapes close to the prealpi (the first

Alps line).

From the athletic point of view, the route has a lot of uphills, with different length and altitude differences: a best way to test different pedal cadence and resistance times, trying to hold

ever a good velocity. At the same time there are some part (quite) in plain where you have to keep an high speed, rest and prepare for the next uphill. Moreover, the track is 92 km long,

testing resistance during time and distance. All this can be useful to proof himself to techniques and behaviors different from what used and required for riding mountain bike.

Total length of 92km with 850m of elevation gain.

Old buildings in Marsure di Sotto village farmland. At Loneriacco village, a few minutes to Tarcento town.

Mountains on the background are in the Cividale city

zone.

This zone is full of historical buildings and country

pubs.

The Torre river.

At this point you leave the Torre Valley, perfect for

biking, and take the uphill toward Sammardenchia

village. A lot of this website routes are in this area, e.g.

Tarcento - Val Resia - Alta Val del Torre.

Uphill toward Sammardenchia village.

The slope written on the signal at the begin of the uphill

is 18%. It does not look like so by the picture. Let's do

the track.

Musi Mounts Range. Picture taken beside the Cuia castle, upon Tarcento

town.

The hill in the middle - not the first one, the one on the

back - is Buia Mount, the next route uphill.

On the top of Buja Mount.

Here there are some historical buildings, a deers

paddock and some environmental pathways.

Gemona town, Grauzaria Mount with snow and the

small mount with Sella Sant'Agnese (Saint Agnese

Saddle).

This zone is traveled in the tour Remanzacco - Tanamea

- Venzonassa.

It's quite all on road in countryside with low traffic.
