TRANSFORMER• THE POWER THAT HAS BEEN
GENERATED IN THE HYDROGENERATING UNIT AT 11KV IS FIRST CHANGED INTO HIGHER VOLTAGE FOR EASE OF TRANSMISSION THROUGH TRANSFORMER.
• THESE ARE CALLED GENERATING TRANSFORMER WHICH ARE AT 11KV IN LV SIDE AND 132 KV AT HV SIDE
SWITCHYARD
THE POWER FLOW NEED TO BE PROTECTED & MONITORED .THIS IS CARRIED OUT THROUGH SWITCHTARD EQUIPMENTS LIKE
CIRCUIT BREAKER, ISOLATOR,
CURRENT TRANSFORMER, POWER TRANSFORMER ETC.
TRANSMISSION
THE POWER FROM SWITCHYARD IS TRANSMITTED TO A HIGHER DISTANCE AT 132 KILOVOLT THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION LINES EITHER SINGLE CIRCUIT OR DOUBLE CIRCUIT
DISTRIBUTION
THE POWER AT HIGHER VOLTAGE HAS TO BE CHANGE TO LOWER VOLTAGE BEFORE IT CAN BE USED AT CUSTOMER END. THIS IS ACHIEVED BY DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMER AND DISTRIBUTION LINES
CONTROL ROOM
THE POWER FLOW IN THE SYSTEM IS MONITORED AND CONTROLLED FROM CONTROL ROOM AND LOAD DISPATCH CENTRE
