Power Point Basics

What is Power Point?Is a visual and graphical application, primarily used for creating presentations. With PowerPoint, you can create, view, and present slide shows that combine text, shapes, pictures, graphs, animation, charts, videos, and much more.

Tips for Creating an effective presentation- Minimize the number of slides.

- Choose an audience-friendly font size.- Keep your slide text simple.

- Use visuals.

- Apply subtle, consistent slide backgrounds.

Independent practice:- Write your name and class on slide #1.

- Create a new slide and write on the heading: slide 2.

- Duplicate slide #2.

- Rename the slide as slide #3.

- Delete slide #2.

- Change the background of slide #1, choose a color fill.

- Apply that color to all slides.

Independent practice:

- Change background of slide #3.

- Use a picture from clipart.

- Don’t apply to all.

Challenge:

Download a picture from the web and apply that picture as a background.

Independent practice:- Open PowerPoint.

- Write your name and class in slide #1.

- Add a new slide.

- Duplicate the slide 4 times. Title each slide with the slide number.

- Open Google Chrome and find an image related to Christmas.

- Download the image to your desktop.

Independent practice:

- Go back to PowerPoint and set the picture you downloaded as the background of the presentation.

- Go back to Google Chrome and download 4 images related to Christmas.

- Insert each image on each slide that you created in PowerPoint.

first slide.

- Add a new slide.

- Change the layout to “image with caption”

- Duplicate the slide 4 times.

- Download a picture and set it as background. Apply to all.

- Download 4 images.

- Insert each image on each slide that you created in PowerPoint.

Independent practice:- Write a description of each picture.

- Change the font style and color.

- Add a new slide.

- Create a word art in the last slide.

- Write: “The End”

- Add transitions to every slide. Add animation to objects.

Independent practice:- Write your name and class in slide #1.

- Add a new slide.

- Change the layout to “picture with caption”

- Duplicate the slide 3 times.

- Download a pictures from the web of your favorite hobby. Set it as a the background.

- Download four more pictures from the web of your hobby. Add them into the slides that you created.

- Write a description of each picture.

- Add an animation and transition into every slide and object.
