Step One Create a Slide
1. Click on the Insert menu
2. Click on “New Slide”
3. Choose a Slide Layout
• Click your mouse inside one of the boxes
• Type text for your project• When finished, create another
“New Slide”

Background
• After all your slides are created, you may design the background
• To design background, go to Format and click on “Background”
• Follow this next example
To change the color
click on drop down arrow.

Step Four
Insert Picture
Double click on photo to
insert a picture.
Click on a picture to choose one,
then click the Insert button.
May look different depending on your version of PowerPoint

Step Five
View Your Slide Show
• Go to the Slide Show menu and click “View Show”
• Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to go from one slide to the next (left arrow takes you back by one slide)
Slide Transition Click on the Slide Show menu, then choose Slide Transition.
• In the Advance Section you can choose to show your slide show either automatically or by hand with the mouse.
• Then enter how many seconds allowed for each slide.
•Click Apply when done
Step Six
Animation Effects
To give a picture Customized Animation Effects.
First click on the picture then click on the blue arrow.
Open the “Timing” Tab and highlight the Text or an object you wish to animate.
Click the
Animate button.
Then choose
• On mouse
or
• Automatically
Click the “Effects” Tab and choose an effect. If you choose “Fly From
Bottom” click OK. Your picture will come in from the bottom of the page.
You can choose to animate all of your slides or just a few.
Step Seven
Sound Effects
•After you have chosen how your object will appear, you can now add the sound by clicking on the “No Sound” tab and selecting a sound you like.
•(Test sound with the Preview button)
•Then click OK.
Step eight
Completion of Slide Show
• Power Point has even more options that you can work with, but these steps you have just learned are enough to make an interesting and informative presentation.
