There is roughly 332.5 million cubic miles of water on earth….

As of 2010, the EPA listed 155K public water systems in the U.S.

Community Water System (CWS): A public water system that supplies water to the same population year-round.

Non-Transient Non-Community Water System (NTNCWS): A public water system that regularly supplies water to at least 25 of the same people at least six months per year, but not year-round. Some examples are schools, factories, office buildings, and hospitals which have their own water systems.

Transient Non-Community Water System (TNCWS): A public water system that provides water in a place such as a gas station or campground where people do not remain for long periods of time.

How is my water made safe to drink?Coagulation & Flocculation using cationic

polymer and alum to make tiny particles in the water stick together to form larger particles, which can be better trapped in filters.

Direct Filtration – This removes particles from the water using a charcoal and sand filter.

Disinfection with Chlorine to kill bacteria and other microorganisms.

What can I do to help?Use more energy efficient, low-water, appliances

such as dishwashers or washing machines.

Use low-water toilets and low-flow showerheads to save on the amount of water that goes down the drain.

Water gardens only when needed and use more drought resistant grass seeds.

Never dump hazardous materials (motor oil, leftover paint) down the drain or in an open sewer.

In conclusion…Do not take your water for granted.

Make sure you know what’s in your water.
