MISSION/VISION

Tribal Development Foundation is a Non-governmental and Non-Profit Development Organization active in Arunachal Pradesh, estd in 11th November 1999 under trusteeship of former CM Gegong Apang & party.

TDF was registered at office 209 – Delhi Chamber, Delhi Gate, New Delhi – 110 002, under Indian Societies Registration Act, 1860.

The branch office of the present Society in Arunachal Pradesh is located at C- Sector Itanagar and in Pasighat bazar.

This society was formerly known as ‘Settlor Trustee’ but later renamed as Tribal Development Foundation .

To established & promote development on socioeconomic, cultural, art, literary, & environment.

To promote & initiate people oriented practices and programs in the field of health, environment and education.

To create awareness & work for family planning and control of population growth for sustainable human development.

To work for the upliftment of tribal people by imparting them necessary skills in their traditional arts and means of livelihood as well as teaching them new skills and trades.

To develop sports activities for the development of tribal youth.

To rehabilitate disabled persons through education, training, and employment.

To provide shelter to orphanages for destitutes. To carry out housing activities for providing shelters

to needy persons. To carry out projects pertaining to afforestation,

horticulture, animal husbandry, farming & social forestry.

To produces features for print median, audio/visual products & distribute them with or without consideration.

To carry on any of the above activities in cooperation or association with any other person, organization, society or authority & provide grants & other facilities to any other organization & engaged in similar activities.

TDF has developed few projects based on training and demonstration to enhance the community participation in some sectors (agri. Horticulture, fishery, animal husbandry) of the Society.

TDF has involved local population by imparting training as well as demonstrating the viability of alternative technologies.

TDF is one of the pioneer organizations to undertake research studies on various aspects linked to the health sector.

TDF undertook a comprehensive study to evaluate the different health problems in the state & additional input for eradication of diseases to state government.

The Society has been organized health check-up camps and awareness programmes in the different villages of Arunachal Pradesh.

The free eye check-up, hepatitis B, leprosy, TB, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Jaundice, Typhoid, Blood Pressure, Diabetes and conducts blood donates are the common health camp programmes conducted by the TDF.

TDF initiated education oriented practices and programmes in education techniques, lifestyles, livelihood, traditional arts & teaching skills on trades and business through training & workshop programs at village.

The society is dedicated for upliftment of the society in general & women & child labour for particular.

Providing education, health care, providing shelter/housing to destitute & needy persons, etc.

The training, workshops on innovative & advance agricultural practices to villagers;

Teaching on trade and business; Upliftment of traditional knowledge and practice related

to agriculture and economic motive; Guidance and formation of SHGs, livelihood alternative

and sustainable activities/practices in field of agriculture have been widely involved in the grassroots level.

Livestock farming, fishery, poultry, piggery, bee keeping etc, have been kept in the village with proper training.

Traditional handloom and handicrafts, weaving and other Indigenous Knowledge and Practices have been promoted.

Awareness, dissemination information regarding environment management; soil protection, afforestation, resource management and pollution control measures.

Workshop, training and documentary on development activities and programs, including relief programs to people in areas affected by natural calamities and other emergencies

“It has been found that to make development sustainable, it is better to mobilize the society rather than leading it, because once the self-confidence in the people germinates it will not take a long time for the flowers of development to blossom.

And for community participation and mobilization, training and demonstration are the key factors”__________
