In all forests, since 2007, it’s forbidden to:

Smoke or make fire.

Set off firework.

Hold fire for pasture renewal.

Burn agricultural or forestry remains.

led to the formation of a team of Forest Sappers

5 elements with specialized training.

FUNCTIONS:

Preventive forestry measures (cleaning of weeds,

pruning trees).

Surveillance operations.

First intervention.

Combat support.

Forest sappers

Avoid forest fires in high risk areas.

Forest patches.

Human Settlements.

Industrial Areas.

Since the formation of the team of Forest sappers in 2008, 63.32 hectares of forest roads and water points have already been cleaned.

In the PMDFCI (Municipal Plan for Forest Fire Protection) are set:

Prevention plans.Plans to raise awareness.Plans of detection.Combat plans.Plans for deletion.Recovery plans for burnt areas.

The Municipality of Lamego has reforested burnt areas.

Our Municipality is concerned in keeping

the native species. So, there are several awareness campaigns at local, national and international levels.
