Elektrièna moè P, ki teèe iz elektriène mreže, je enaka pro-duktu iz napetosti U, toka I in kosinusa kota zakasnitve ϕ

Èisto aktivno moè pri periodiènih velièinah sinusne oblike do-bimo samo, èe sta tok in napetost v fazi, to je, èe imata istoè-asen prehod skozi nièlo. To je res pri ohmskih porabnikih,npr. žarnicah na nitko in elektriènem ogrevanju. Ker se dove-dena moè v veliki veèini pretvarja v drugo obliko, govorimo oaktivni moèi.

Delovanje elektriènih motorjev in transformatorjev pa zahtevamagnetna polja. Za to potrebnega dela energije pa ni mogo-èe pretvoriti v aktivno moè, zato govorimo o jalovi moèi Q.

Pri prenosu moèi naj bo nekoristen jalovi del èim manjši. Kerpa porabnik jalovo moè potrebuje, mu jo skušamo preskrbetina drug naèin kot z dobavo iz elektriène mreže. Pri tem po-maga dejstvo, da v kondenzator teèe tok, ki napetost po faziprehiteva. Èe je kapacitivna upornost kondenzatorjev enakaupornosti induktivnosti, se oba uèinka kompenzirata.

Na ta naèin je mogoèe zmanjšati jalovo moè, ki jo dobivamo(in plaèamo) od dobavitelja elektriène moèi (Slika 2). Energi-ja, ki jo vsebujeta elektrièni kondenzator in magnetna polja(induktivnosti) sta izenaèeni. Ta proces imenujemo kompen-zacija moènostnega faktorja (jalovega toka), s cos ϕ oznaèu-jemo razmerje med aktivno moèjo P in navidezno moèjo S:

Theoretical fundamentals

The power P drawn from the electrical network is equal tothe product of the voltage U, the current l and the phase dis-placement angle ϕ.

P = U x l x cos ϕ

However, pure active power can only be created with sinu-soidal alternating changes when current and voltage are inphase (i.e., have their zero crossing at the same time). Thisis the case with ohmic loads (e.g., incandescent lamps andelectric heaters). Since most of the power can be used this iscalled active power. Operation of motors and transformers requires magneticfields. Since the energy required here cannot be convertedto active power, it is called reactive power Q.This useless reactive power component should be kept aslow as possible. Since such reactive power is needed by theconnected equipment, an attempt is made to supply thispower from a source other than the power network. It is help-ful that capacitors have a leading reactive current. When itscapacitive resistance is just as great as that of the inductivi-ties, the effects are cancelled out.

This can be used to reduce the reactive power obtained from(and must be paid for) power providers (Fig. 2). The power ofthe electrical (capacitor) and the magnetic fields (inductivity)cancel each other out. This procedure is called power factorcompensation. Cos ϕ is the ratio of active power P to appar-ent power S:

Priporoèila za tonfrekvenèno centralnokrmiljenje

Naprave za tonfrekvenèno centralno krmiljenje (TFK) delujejona frekvencah med ca. 100 Hz in 1350 Hz. Odvisno od krmil-ne frekvence imajo lahko kondenzatorji brez dušilk in konde-zatorji z dušilkami nedopustne povratne vplive na TFK napra-ve. Zato je pri naèrtovanju kondenzatorske naprave potebnoupoštevati lokalno uporabljeno frekvenco centralnega krmil-jenja. Merilo za zmanjšanje tonfrekvenène impedance je faktor im-pedance α. Pri lastnem mrežnem transformatorju velja:

α = ZS–ZA

0,4 (Priporoèila za prepreèevanje nedopustnihpovratnih vplivov na centralno tonfrekvenènokrmiljenje)

ZS = Impedanca mreže pri konkretni tonski frekvenci

ZA = Impedanca mreže pri osnovni frekvenci (50 Hz)

Za doseganje faktorja impedance α 0,4 so pri naèrtovanjukondenzatorskih naprav na razpolago sledeèe možnosti: - Uporaba tonfrekvenènih zapornih krogov - Uporaba kondenzatorjev z dušilkami in s posebnimi dušil-

kami (kombinirane dušilke) - Uporaba kondenzatorjev brez dušilk

Pri stalno veèji obremenitvi mrež z usmerniki in podobnimiporabniki z nelinearnimi karakteristikami je pri vseh ukrepihza zapiranje (kondenzatorjev) potrebno paziti, da harmonskitokovi, ki jih povzroèajo ti porabniki, na elementih za zapiran-je ne povzroèajo nedopustnih obremenitev. Do teh na zapor-nih vezjih pride zaradi neizogibne resonance med kondenza-torjem in zapornim elementom. Pri projektiranju kompenza-cijske naprave, zaprte proti tonskim frekvencam, je potrebnopaziti na prisotne višje harmonike. Slika 3 podaja pregled, s kakšnimi ukrepi je pri kompenza-cijskih napravah mogoèe doseèi zadosten zaporni uèinek.Uporaba kondenzatorjev brez tonfrekvenènih zapornih kro-gov je možna. Medtem ko je uporaba kondenzatorjev brezdušilk možna samo pri krmilnih frekvencah nižjih od 250 Hzin pri majhnem deležu usmerniškega toka, je mogoèe s siste-mi z vgrajenimi dušilkami v pravi kombinaciji mogoèe doseèizadosten zaporni uèinek pri vseh frekvencah.

Tonfrekvenèni zaporni sistemi, povezani s kondenzatorskiminapravami z dušilkami oziroma s filterskimi sistemi, zahteva-jo poseben pristop pri naèrtovanju in so projektirani individu-alno ob upoštevanju strukture harmonikov v mreži višjega re-da in kratkostiène reaktance na mestu prikljuèitve naprave.

Recommendations for audio frequencycontrol systems

Ripple control systems (TRA) use frequencies from approx.100 Hz to 1350 Hz. Depending on this frequency, capacitorswith or without reactor protection can cause excessive per-turbations on the ripple control systems.

When a capacitor system is designed, the audio frequencysignal used by the local power utility must be considered.

A guide to the decrease in audio frequency impedance is theimpedance factor a for which the following applies, for exam-ple, for the separate power transformer:

α = ZS–ZA

0.4 (Recommendations for the avoidance of ex-cessive perturbations on the audio frequencycontrol system)

ZS = Network impedance of the particular audio frequency ZA = Network impedance of the basic frequency (50 Hz)

To achieve an impedance factor of α 0.4, the followingpossibilities exist when planning capacitor systems: - Use of audio frequency blocking circuits - Use of reactor-protected and special reactor-protected ca-

pacitors (combination reactor-protection) - Use of capacitors without reactor protection

Due to the increasing load on the power networks caused bycurrent converters and similar loads with non-linear charac-teristics, remember when executing blocking measures thatthe harmonic currents generated by these loads do notcause excessive stress on the blocking elements. This is dueto the unavoidable series resonance between capacitor andblocking element which occurs in all blocking circuits. Duringconfiguration of a compensation system blocked against au-dio frequencies, existing harmonics must be considered.

Fig. 3 gives an overview of which measures can be used incompensation equipment to achieve sufficient blocking ef-fects. While use of non-reactor-protected capacitors withoutaudio frequency blocking circuits is only possible for audiofrequencies of less than 250 Hz and low current converterportion, reactor-protected systems in suitable combinationare able to achieve sufficient blocking effects for all regularaudio frequencies. Audio frequency blocking systems combined with reactor-protected capacitor systems or filter circuits under considera-tion of the harmonics content of the higher-level network andthe short-circuit reactance at the connection point can be in-dividually configured on request.

Tehnièna pojasnila

Avtomatske kompenzacijske naprave se uporabljajo za cen-tralno kompenzacijo jalove moèi v trifaznih sistemih brez pri-sotnosti višjih harmonikov. Regulacijske naprave in razširitve-ne enote se dobavljajo v zaprtih kovinskih ohišjih, primernihza montažo na steno ali kot prosto stojeèa izvedba.

Regulacijske naprave do 75 kvar so narejene v obliki plošèe za vgradnjo, kompletno sestavljenein povezane, opremljene z regulatorjem in NN varovalkami,kondenzatorskimi kontaktorji z vgrajenimi predupori za dušenjevklopnega toka, praznilnimi upori, nizkoizgubnimi kondenzatorjiz vrstnimi sponkami za prikljuèitev vodnikov za krmiljenje in na-pajanje tokovnega transformatorja. Naprave so dobavljene vobliki kovinske omare za montažo na steno. Regulacijske naprave nad 75 kvar vsebujejo: - Kondenzatorske module, sestavljene iz 3 NN varovalk z

deli zbiralk, kondenzatorskega kontaktorja z vgrajenimpreduporom za dušenje vklopnega toka, nizkoizgubnihkondenzatorjev in praznilne dušilke za hitro praznjenje.

- Regulator jalove moèi z displejem in vgrajenim preklopni-kom roèno/avtomatsko.

- Kovinsko ohišje z regulatorjem v vratih omare, kjer se tudinadzira delovanje regulacijskih funkcij.

- Prikljuèek na PEN vodnik.

Prikljuèek Predviden je kabelski prikljuèek od spodaj. Za regulacijskoenoto in za vsako razširitveno enoto je potreben mrežni prikl-juèek in tripolno varovanje.

Razširitvene enote Razširitev regulacijske enote je možna s paralelno prikljuèit-vijo razširitvenih enot. Razširitvene enote so z regulacijskoenoto povezane z regulacijskim kablom. Pri tem ostane šte-vilo stopenj nespremenjeno, spremeni se samo moè posa-mezne stopnje. Razširitvene enote nimajo regulatorja na vra-tih.

Predpisi Avtomatske kompenzacijske naprave odgovarjajo predpisomDIN EN 61921 (VDE 0560 Teil 700), EN 60831-1 (VDE 0560Teil46) in EN 60439 Teil 1 (VDE 0660 Teil 500), IEC Publika-cijam 831 in 439 in VDE 0106, Teil 100.

Montaža Avtomatske regulacijske naprave in razširitvene enote so pri-merne za notranjo montažo. Naprave za zunanjo montažoso dobavljive na zahtevo.

Technical comments

Automatic power factor correction equipment is used for thecentral compensation of the reactive power in three-phasepower supply systems without harmonics.Equipment and extension modules are made of steel sheetencapsulated boxes for wall mounting or in free standingconstruction.Units up to 75 kvarconsist of a built-in module completely mounted and connec-ted with a power factor controller, capacitor contactors withintegrated resistors for damping of the inrush current, di-scharge resistors, lowloss power capacitors and terminalblocks for connection of the control and current transformerlines. The module is built into a prefabricated steel sheet boxfor wall mounting.Units over 75 kvar contain:- Capacitor modules, each consisting of 3 H.R.C. low-volta-

ge fuses with portions of bus bars, capacitor contactorwith integrated series resistors for attenuation of theswitch-on current, low-loss power capacitors and dischar-ge reactor for quick discharge.

- Power factor controller with display and integratedhand/automatic mode selector.

- Steel sheet standard panel with power factor controller inthe front door for observation of the function of the con-troller.

- Terminal for PEN-conductor.ConnectionThe cable entry for each equipment is provided from the bot-tom. One each power connection and one three-pole, low-voltage fuse protection are required for the unit and each ex-tension unit.Extension modulesThe unit can be expanded by parallel connection of exten-sion units. The extension units are connected to the unit withcontrol lines. The number of steps remains the same and on-ly the step size is increased. Naprave s kondenzatorji z dušilkami

Teoretiène osnove Kompenzacijski kondenzator in induktivnosti transformatorjater mreže tvorijo paralelen nihajni krog. Impedanca tega kro-ga ima pri resonanèni frekvenci zelo veliko vrednost (teoreti-èno neskonèno). Èe se resonanèna frekvenca nahaja v bliži-ni frekvenc, ki jih povzroèa usmernik, so ti harmonski tokovivsiljeni preko te visoke impedance nihajnega kroga. Pri temnastanejo zelo veliki tokovi nihajnega kroga, ki lahko imajoza napravo moteèe ali unièujoèe posledice. (Slika 8).Za prepreèitev teh resonanènih pojavov prikljuèimo dušilko vserijo s kompenzacijskim kondenzatorjem (Slika 9). Serijskinihajni krog, sestavljen iz dušilke in kondenzatorja, je ugla-šen na resonanèno frekvenco, ki leži pod najnižjim harmoni-kom. Pri tem podajamo moè dušilke v procentih moèi kon-denzatorja pri osnovni frekvenci. Kondenzatorje s takimi duš-ilkami imenujemo tudi razglašeni filterski krogi. Kako velik je ”sesalni uèinek” (stopnja filtracije), je odvisnood vsakokratne kratkostiène impedance napajalne mreže innadomestne impedance razglašenega kroga, podane z nje-govo kvaliteto. Skupen harmonski tok, ki ga proizvaja usmer-nik, je potrebno oceniti.

Te vrednosti veljajo pri idealnem glajenju. Èe pa imamoopravka za majhnim ali nikakršnim glajenjem, je potrebnozlasti pri 5. harmoniku raèunati z veèjimi vrednostmi (30 ...35 % osnovnega vala). Prednosti razglašenih krogov so oèit-ne: - kompenzacija reaktivne moèi pri osnovni frekvenci na

vnaprej doloèeno vednost cos ϕ- izloèanje (izognitev) mrežnih resonanc v napajalni mreži.

Reactor protected equipment

Theoretical fundamentals It is found that power factor compensation capacitors and theinductances of transformers and the power supply networkform a parallel resonant circuit whose impedance at the res-onant frequency of the oscillating circuit can be extremly high(theoretically infinite). If the resonant frequency approximatesany harmonic frequency generated by the rectifier, then theharmonic current concerned will be forced over this high os-cillatory impedance and the resultant voltage drop will lead tovery high harmonic current that could damage the plant (Fig.8).In order to prevent resonances, a reactor will be connectedin series with the compensation capacitor (Fig. 9). The re-sultant series resonant circuit is tuned to a resonant frequen-cy that is beneath the lowest harmonic frequency. The powerof the reactor concerned is specified as a percentage of thecapacitor impedance referred to the fundamental current.Such reactor protected capacitors are also referred to as de-tuned filter circuits. How great the “absorption effect” (degreeof filter) is, depends on the short-circuit impedance of thepower supply network and the residual resistance of the de-tuned filter which is determined by the filter quality. The har-monic current generated by the current converter has to besuitably dimensioned.Guide values 5th harmonic l5 = 0.23 x l17th harmonic l7 = 0.12 x l111th harmonic l11 = 0.085 x l1These values are valid for ideal smoothing. If no smoothingor only slight smoothing is provided, then higher amplitudesmust be anticipated, particulary in the case of the 5th har-monic (30 ... 35 % of the fundamental current). Èe je vgrajena dušil-ka izbrana tako, da resonanèni krog obremenjuje samo mini-malen del višjih harmonikov, govorimo o “zelo razglašenemfilterskem krogu”.

Prikljuèek Predviden je kabelski prikljuèek od spodaj. Mrežni kabelskiprikljuèek za tripolno varovanje je potreben pri regulacijskemdelu naprave in za vsako razširitveno enoto.

Razširitvene enote Razširitev oziroma poveèanje moèi regulacijske naprave jemožno s paralelno prikljuètvijo razširitvenih enot. Razširitve-ne enote so s krmilnimi vodniki povezane z regulacijsko na-pravo. Pri tem število stopenj ostane nespremenjeno, poveèase samo moè posamezne stopnje. Razširitvene enote v vra-tih nimajo regulatorja.

Predpisi Avtomatske kompenzacijske naprave odgovarjajo sledeèimpredpisom: DIN EN 61921 (VDE 0560 Teil 700), EN 60831-1 (VDE 0560Teil 46) in EN 60439 Teil 1 (VDE 0660 Teil 500), IEC Publika-cijam 831 in 439 in VDE 0106, Teil 100.

Reactor protected equipment

Theoretical fundamentals Power factor correction equipment with reactor-protected ca-pacitors are used for the central compensation of the reac-tive power in three-phase power supply network with har-monic loads. If the series reactor is selected in such a waythat a minimum part of the harmonics is charging the reso-nance circuit, it is called a “highly detuned filter circuit”

This ”highly detuned filter circuit” absorbs only asmall part of the 5th respectively the 7th harmonic current,whereas the greater part is supplied to the power supply net-work.Reactor-protected automatic power factor correction equip-ment consist of:- Capacitor subassemblies each consisting of 3 H.R.C. low

voltages fuses, bus bars, capacitor contactors, low-losscapacitors and discharge choke for quick discharge.

- 3-phase reactor for each subassembly.- Power factor controller with display and integrated

hand/automatic mode selector.- Steel sheet standard panel with power factor controller in

the front door for observation of the function of the con-troller.

- Terminal for PEN-conductor.ConnectionThe cable entry for each equipment is provided from the bot-tom. One each power connection and one three-pole, low-voltage fuse protection are required for the unit and each ex-tension unit.Extension modulesThe unit can be expanded by parallel connection of exten-sion units. The extension units are connected to the unit withcontrol lines. The number of steps remains the same and on-ly the step size is increased. Dinamiène kompenzacijske naprave

SplošnoV številnih industrijskih obratih je danes vgrajena zelo dina-mièna pogonska oprema. Poleg nespornih prednosti te tehni-ke pa je prisotna tudi njena slaba stran namreè, da so napa-jalne mreže obremenjene s hitrim spreminjanjem bremena inz višjimi harmoniki. To ima za posledico nestabilne napetost-ne razmere, flikerje, povišanja napetosti in poveèane izgubev distribucijski mreži. Zaradi tega ne pride samo do zmanjš-anja koristne moèi mreže ampak tudi do vplivov na obèutljivaelektronska krmiljenja.Obièajne kompenzacijske jalove moèi so narejene tako, dapoleg èistega optimiranja moènostnega faktorja znižajo tudinivo višjih harmonikov. Vendar pa ne morejo slediti hitrimspremembam bremen in za opisano problematiko ne pred-stavljajo zadovoljive rešitve. Podroèje uporabe teh naprav jekompenzacija statiènih oziroma poèasi se spreminjajoèih bre-men, kjer so preklopni cikli v podroèju minut. Dinamièna kompenzacija reaktivne moèiPomoè predstavljajo dinamiène naprave s kompenzacijo vrealnem èasu.DynamiC. Pri tej tehnologiji sta obièajna elementa regulatorreaktivne moèi in kondenzatorski kontaktor zamenjana skombinacijo hitrega regulatorja in tiristorsko krmiljenih pre-klopnikov Thyro-C. Ta sistem reagira na spremembo breme-na z minimalno zamudo v eni periodi mreže in prepreèujeskoke reaktivne moèi v napajalni mreži. Moènostni faktor jeoptimiran v vsakem trenutku, obremenitev mreže je reducir-ana na mimimum. Za popolno eliminiranje reakcijskega èasaje krmiljenje kompenzacijskih stopenj mogoèe alternativno iz-vesti direktno preko krmilne elektronike velikih posamiènihporabnikov.

Dynamic compensation equipment

General Many industrial plants today use highly dynamic drive tech-nology. In addition to the undisputed advantages of this mod-ern technology, however, there is the disadvantage that thepower networks are stressed by frequent changes in load aswell as harmonics. This causes unstable voltage conditions,flickering, excessive currents and greater losses in powerdistribution. This in turn not only decreases the amount ofuseable network power but also affects the functions of sen-sitive electronic controllers. Conventional reactive power compensation systems are de-signed for the pure optimization of the power factor and alsoto reduce the harmonics level but are not able to keep upwith fast load changes and do not provide a satisfactory solu-tion to the problem described above. The application area ofthese systems is the compensation of static, or slowly chang-ing loads with switching cycles in the minutes range. ApplicationThe real-time power factor compensation equipment in theDynamiC series offers a solution. In these assemblies theclassic components controller and air contactor are substitut-ed by a combination ofcorresponding high speed controllerand thyristor power modules Thyro-C. This system reacts im-mediately to load fluctuation and reactive power surges willbe neutralised in the supply network. The power factor is op-timised at each moment, the negative effects describedabove are reduced to a minimum. This gives the consumernot only the advantage of a stable supply ratio, but the abilityto minimise energy distribution and reduce costs. To increasethe switching performance to an optimum, the control signalfor the control of the capacitor banks can alternatively be giv-en directly by the logic control of bigger loads.

Mehko preklapljanje brez vplivov na mrežoNaslednja pozitivna lastnost tega principa je “mehko” pre-klapljanje kondenzatorjev. Obièajne naprave povzroèajo tran-zientne preklopne konice, ki ne obremenjujejo samo elemen-tov kompenzacije, ampak lahko povzroèajo tudi motnje priporabnikih v mreži. DynamiC v splošnem kondenzatorjevklaplja in tudi izklaplja pri prehodu toka skozi nièlo, s èemerso motnje zaradi tranzientov prepreèene.

Malo vzdrževanjaŠtevilo prekopov naprav z DynamiC je neomejeno, praktiènoni pojavov obrabe. Zaradi preklopv brez tranzientov so varo-valke razbremenjene in imajo znatno daljšo življensko dobo.

Smooth switching without perturbationsAnother positive effect of this principle is the ”soft“ switchingof the capacitors. Conventional equipment with air contactorscreates transient inrush currents which not only affect thecompensation components, but can also lead to damagesand interferences of consumers. DynamiC generally switcheson and off during zero current crossing, so avoiding transientinterference completely.

Low-maintenanceThe number of switching operations of DynamiC systems isunlimited. They are almost wear-free. Transient-free switch-ing relieves the backup fuses so that they then have a muchlonger standby period.

Naprave z uglašenimi filtri

SplošnoNaprave s filterskimi krogi se uporabljajo v mrežah z velikimdeležem višjih harmonikov. Te naprave opravljajo nalogokompenzacije prisotne induktivne jalove moèi in istoèasnoizboljšujejo kakovost mrežne napetosti. V številnih industrijs-kih mrežah je mogoèe vzdrževati obremenitve z višjimi har-moniki znotraj mejnih vrednosti po EN 61000-2-2 samo zuporabo teh specialnih uglašenih filterskih krogov (imenova-nih tudi pasivni filterski krogi). Naèin delovanja filterskih kro-gov je prikazan na slikah 14 in 15.

UporabaFilterske naprave so (podobno kot naprave s kondenzatorji zdušilkami) sestavljene iz posameznih modulov. Število mo-dulov in moè posameznega modula sta odvisna od potrebnemoèi za kompenzacijo, še bolj pa od velikosti posameznihharmonikov.

Kar zadeva moè kompenzacije ima izbor frekvenc uglasitvepodrejen pomen, veliko bolj je pomemben izbor uglasitveglede na delovanje naprave z uglašenimi filtri v zvezi z izbol-jšanjem kakovosti mrežne napetosti. V tem pogledu je pose-ben pomen naprav z uglašenimi filtri v primerjavi z naprava-mi s kondenzatorji z dušilkami. Za doseganje optimalnegauèinka pri istoèasno stroškovno ugodni izvedbi morajo biti fil-terski krogi natanèno prilagojeni na konkretne pogoje mreže.Krogi so sestavljeni iz modulov, ki imajo resonanène frekven-ce skladne s frekvencami povratnih mrežnih vplivov usmerni-kov. Pri usmernikih v nizkonapetostnih mrežah, kjer so us-merniki najveèkrat 6 in 12 pulzni, so to moduli za 5., 7., 11.in 13. harmonik. Izraèun prièakovanih harmonskih tokov je potrebno doslednonarediti za najtežje delovne pogoje (worst case). Za ocenoharmonskih tokov je mogoèe uporabiti sledeèe izkustvenevrednosti:

- 5. harmonik I5 = 0,30 … 0,35 I1- 7. harmonik I7 = 0,10 … 0,12 I1- 11. harmonik I11 = 0,08 … 0,10 I1- 13. harmonik I13 = 0,06 … 0,08 I1

Te orientacijske vrednosti veljajo za 6 pulzne usmernike infrekvenène pretvornike z diodnim mostièkom na mrežni stra-ni, sicer pa je potrebno upoštevati podatke dobaviteljev us-mernikov. Optimalno prilagoditev filterskih krogov na konkret-ne pogoje mreže in obremenitve je mogoèe doseèi s pomoè-jo analize harmonikov (meritve mreže).

Tuned filter circuits equipment

GeneralFilter circuit systems are used in very harmonics-stressednetworks. They compensate existing inductive reactive powerand, at the same time, improve the quality of the system volt-age. Adherence to the limit values for the harmonic load inaccordance with EN 61000-2-2 can only be accomplished inmany industrial power networks by using these especiallytuned filter circuits (also called passive filter circuits). Figures14 and 15 illustrate how the filter circuits work.

ApplicationFilter systems are (similar to reactor protected compensationsystems) made up of modules. The number and capacity ofthe individual modules depends on both the amount of com-pensation capacity needed and, much more importantly, onthe amount of discrete harmonic currents.

Regarding the compensation capacity, the selection of thetuning frequencies only plays a minor role but not with regardto the effect of the filter circuit system for improvement of thequality of the network voltage. This is the special significanceof the systems with tuned filter circuits in comparison to thesystems with reactor-protected capacitors. To obtain optimumefficiency at the same time as inexpensive design, the filtercircuits must be precisely tuned to the existing network con-ditions. They are made up of modules whose resonance fre-quencies correspond to the frequencies of the power con-verter perturbations. With the 6 and 12-pulse power convert-ers which usually exist in the low voltage network, these aremodules for the 5th, 7th, 11th and 13th harmonics.

Calculation of the harmonic currents to be expected must al-ways be performed for the greatest load (worst case). Thefollowing values derived from experience can be used to esti-mate the harmonic currents.

- 5th harmonics I5 = 0.30 … 0.35 I1- 7th harmonics I7 = 0.10 … 0.12 I1- 11th harmonics I11 = 0.08 … 0.10 I1- 13th harmonics I13 = 0.06 … 0.08 I1

These standard values apply to 6-pulse power convertersand frequency converters with network-side diode bridge.Otherwise the specifications of the power converter suppliersapply. An optimal tuning of the filter circuits to the existingpower and load conditions can be achieved with a harmonicsanalysis (network measurement).

Izvedba

Filterski krogi so na razpolago v obliki omar za mrežne nape-tosti 400 V in 690 V. Na zahtevo so dobavljive posebne iz-vedbe (eno in dvofazne, posebne napetosti in frekvence). Vposamièno omaro so vgrajeni maksimalno 4 filterski moduli.Vsak modul je sestavljen iz sledeèih bistvenih elementov :

- NN - moènostno loèilno stikalo z varovalkami- moènostni kondenzatorji z veliko tokovno obremenljivostjo

in veliko stabilnostjo kapacitivnosti- filterske dušilke v posebni izvedbi za velike harmonske to-

kove- termistorska zašèita s tipko za resetiranje za nadzor tem-

perature filterskih dušilk- zraèni kontaktor za preklapljanje modula- praznilne dušilke za hitro praznjenje modulov- preèna povezava k modulom z enako frekvenco uglasitve

s kontaktorjem in tokovnim relejem za nadzor modula inza lineariziranje tokov posameznih modulov.

Vklapljanje filterskih krogov se v skladu s projektom napraveizvede z roènim krmiljenjem in / ali z daljinskim krmiljenjem spomoèjo zunanjih krmilnih ukazov npr. preko SPS pogona, kiga kompenziramo. Pri tem je priporoèeno, da je filterska na-prava vklopljena prej kot pogon. V ta namen je npr. sprosti-tev regulacije kompenziranega usmernika mogoèe nareditiodvisno od stanja vklopa potrebne filterske naprave, za karje na razpolago brezpotencialen kontakt (doveden na sponè-no letev).

V splošnem je potrebno paziti na pravilno vklapljanje in izklapl-janje filterskih krogov. Za prepreèitev resonanènih problemovje potrebno dosledno najprej vklopiti filterski krog z najnižjofrekvenco uglasitve, nato z naslednjo višjo itd. Izklop je potreb-no izvesti v obratnem vrstnem redu. Pri tem je nujno potrebnoizklopiti kroge z višjimi frekvencami uglasitve, kadar so krogi znižjimi frekvencami uglasitve izklopljeni. Notranja zapora pre-preèuje morebitno napaèno manipulacijo take vrste in je zato vnobenem primeru ne smemo izklopiti.

Design

Filter circuits in cabinet construction are offered for rated net-work voltages of 400 V and 690 V. Special models (single ortwo-phase, special voltages and frequencies) are availableon request. A maximum of 4 filter circuit modules are in-stalled per cabinet. Each module consists of the following pri-mary components.

- H.R.C. fuse load breaker- Power capacitors with high current carrying capability and

high capacity constancy- Filter circuit reactors in special models for high harmonic

currents - Thermistor protection with reset key for temperature moni-

toring of the filter circuit reactors- Air contactor for switching the module- Discharge reactors for fast discharge of the modules- Cross connection to the modules of the same tuning fre-

quency with contactor and current relay for monitoring themodule and for linearization of the currents of the individu-al modules

Depending on the particular project, the filter circuits areswitched on via manual control and/or via remote control viaexternal control commands (e.g., by the PLC of the drive tobe compensated). We recommend switching the filter systemthrough before the drive. For instance, the control enable ofthe current converter to be compensated can be made de-pendent on the switching through of the filter system forwhich a potential-free contact (on terminals) is then provided. In general it must be ensured that the switching on and off ofthe filter circuits is correct. To avoid resonance problems, thefilter circuit with the lowest tuning frequency must always beswitched on first, followed by the next highest, and so on.Switching off must then take place in reverse order. This en-sures that operation of the filter circuits of the higher tuningfrequencies is impossible when circuits of the lower tuningfrequencies are switched off. An internal block which mustnot be cancelled prevents operator mistakes regarding this.

Sistemi z aktivnimi filtri

SplošnoAktivni mrežni energetski filtri se v osnovi razlikujejo od pa-sivnih kompenzacijskih in filterskih naprav. Delujejo kot krmil-jeni tokovni izvori. To dovoljuje, da se v mrežo pošilja tok spoljubno fazo, amplitudo in frekvenco. Jalova moè, spre-membe bremen in višji harmoniki so kompenzirani po princi-pu dušenja.

TehnologijaSistemi z aktivnimi filtri se v osnovi sestojijo iz vmesnika, kije narejen kot IGBT napetostni pretvornik. Ta vmesnik je namrežo, ko jo želimo kompenzirati, prikljuèen preko mrežnegafiltra. Z njim je eliminirana frekvenca takta pulza. V vmesnikuse nahaja kondenzator za enosmerno napetost, ki služi kotshranjevalec energije. Krmilna elektronika stalno primerja tre-nutno stanje v mreži z vnaprej doloèenim idealnim stanjem inistoèasno in loèeno v vsako fazo dodaja doloèen tok (faznatokovna regulacija)..

Kompenzacija reaktivne moèiNaprava lahko na svojih prikljuènih sponkah pošilja v mrežokakršnokoli jalovo moè osnovne frekvence, induktivno ali ka-pacitivno. To se dogaja loèeno v vsaki fazi posebej, kar imaza posledico tudi simetriranje porabe toka.

Kompenzacija harmonikovTok bremena, ki ga želimo kompenzirati, teèe preko tokovne-ga transformatorja. Aktivni filter iz tega signala izolira delež zvišjimi harmoniki in ga ponovno pošilja v mrežo vendar znasprotno fazo. To ima za posledico dušenje harmonikov, tokmreže je sestavljen samo še iz èistega dela z osnovno frek-venco. Regulacija lahko v realnem èasu kompenzira vse har-monike, lahko pa samo posamezne izbrane harmonike intudi jalovo moè.

Active filter systems

GeneralActive power capacity filters differ fundamentally from pas-sive compensation and filter circuit systems. They functionlike a controlled current source. This permits current in anyphase, amplitude and frequency to be supplied to the net-work. Reactive power, changes in load and harmonics areactively compensated by the principle of suppression.

TechnologyActive filter systems basically consist of an (IGBT) voltagesource DC link converter. To eliminate the clock pulse fre-quency, this is connected via a power filter to the power to becompensated. The DC link is equipped with a direct currentcapacitor as the source of power. The control electronics con-tinuously compare the actual value on the network with thespecified ideal value and simultaneously update the currentflow for each phase separately (phase current control).

Reactive power compensation The device can supply any basic harmonic reactive power in-ductively and capacitively at the connection point to the net-work. This is done separately for each phase which also con-tributes to the symmetry of current consumption. Harmonics compensation The load current to be compensated is acquired via a currentconverter. The active filter isolates the harmonics portionfrom this signal and feeds this during phase opposition backto the network. This causes a suppression and the networkcurrent now only consists of the pure basic harmonics por-tion. The controller can both suppress all harmonics in realtime or, as an alternative, compensate individually selectedharmonics as well as reactive power.

Kompenzacija nièelnega vodnikaKot posebna izvedba za štirižiène mreže se naprava sestojiiz štirih moènostnih tokokrogov. To je potrebno zato, da se vnièelnem vodniku kompenzira harmonike 3. harmonika innjegove mnogokratnike. Dimenzioniranje kroga za nièelnivodnik je mogoèe izbrati do trikratne vrednosti bremena zu-nanjega vodnika.

Kompenzacija flikerjevPri hitrem porastu bremena, ki ga hoèemo kompenzirati, ak-tivni filter v napajalno mrežo kratkotrajno oddaja shranjenoenergijo iz vmesnega tokokroga s kondenzatorjem. Pri zman-jšanju bremena pa obratno aktivni filter iz mreže potegneenergijo v vmesni tokokrog. Na ta naèin je sprememba bre-mena, gledano s strani mreže, zglajena, s èimer je delovanjeflikerja (zaznavanje nihanja svetlobe) znižano pod mejo zaz-navanja (Pst = 1). Za kompenzacijo flikerja morajo imeti na-prave poveèano kapaciteto vmesnega tokokroga.

Active filter systemsNeutral conductor compensation In the special model for four-conductor networks, the deviceconsists of four power circuits. This is necessary for the com-pensation of harmonics of the 3rd harmonic and their multi-ples on the neutral conductor. The design of the neutral con-ductor circuit can be selected up to three times the load ofthe outer conductor.

Flicker compensationWith a fast increase in the load to be compensated, the ac-tive filter briefly feeds the power stored in the DC link capaci-tor to the power network. When the load drops, the active fil-ter pulls power in reverse from the network into the DC link.Using this principle, the network-side change in load issmoothed and the flicker effect (perceptible light fluctuations)is reduced to below perception (Pst = 1). The devices mustbe equipped for flicker compensation with an enlarged DClink capacity.
