be able to differentiate it from the others in the market and why should they

choose hospitality field instead of the other areas in business.

Practical:

The practical indoor team building activates can demonstrate differences in

leadership style, and encourage creative thinking to solve a certain problem

and creating strategies in order to make the activity works properly, create a

solutions in a case of failures in one part of the activity and state the reasons

of failure.

• The first activity is a leadership activity adopted from “Outward

Bound Oman” the group members will be given for each: a separate

tunnel to hold and each group will be around three members. And a

ball will be rolling in the tunnel and each member will change his/her

position to take a place in a straight line and make the ball roll

nonstop in the separate channels.

Outcome: it will demonstrate a leadership skills and the team work, links

the outcome of the game to the reality and transfer it to the business world

and upgrade the basic idea into a whole new level.

.

• The second is a group activity of four candidates in each group. They

will be given a random sticks and they will also be given a paper with

the required shape to make, the sticks need to have a certain way to

make and it only needs a solution to make the right shape, the group

members will brainstorm and will come up with ideas.

Outcome: it will enhance the communication between the members and

will demonstrate the idea of thinking out of the box and not sticking to

the given lines only. The result of this activity will teach the candidates to

share the ideas and to think in more than one way and look for other

solutions for the same problem.

• The third practical activity is in managing events; the students will be

given some materials and will need to think about the suitable way,

the budget to make a 5 star dining table for a certain event. Based on

the previous practical activity on leadership, the rolls will be

distributed naturally and all the students will know what they are good

at!

Outcome: it will teach the student the bases of hospitality

managements.

• The forth practical activity is the most important in the third day.

Which is applying what was learned in the class about Hospitality

marketing and trying to come up with a new hospitality brand in

Oman, something unique and different, and they will explain their

brands as they are the owners of a new business.

Outcome: preparing the students to work in the field of hospitality or to

follow the right path in making up a new future business in hospitality.
