My wife and I are the proud parents of our two adorable tamariki. We live in Tauranga where I am the Deputy Principal at Bellevue School. At Bellevue School I have several layers of leadership. A few of my key responsibilities include leading: - future focussed learning - assessment practices, and - curriculum development and review. Leadership is an innate quality I have always had and I have a passion for growing myself and others as leaders. ASPIRING PRINCIPAL MARSHALL DIGGS 4. Introduction I wish to be part of NAPP 2014 because: i. As an educational leader I am committed to making a difference in education for future generations and I have a passion to be involved in the shaping and leading of best practice schools. ii. Mentors have advised me, after completing NAPP themselves, that the relationships, knowledge, and skills that I will gain by being part of NAPP will be most beneficial in equipping me for principalship. iii. As a life long learner I believe that the NAPP is a privileged opportunity I wish to take full advantage of it. I believe NAPP is the next step in my pathway and development as an educational leader. ASPIRING PRINCIPAL MARSHALL DIGGS 5. Introduction I would add value to the NAPP learning community by: i. being open and committed to learning, actively participating and forming learning partnerships. ii. engaging in professional and robust dialogue that cultivates growth and adds value to other aspiring principals. My Leadership Qualities and Disposition My Leadership experiences and skills allows me to successfully adapt and interchange between my four core leadership dispositions depending on the leadership demand: Coach i.e. Dave Rennie (Waikato Chiefs Head Coach) Visionary i.e. Mark Zuckerberg (Founder of Facebook) Expert i.e. Ray Davies (Tactician - Emirates Team New Zealand) Transformer i.e. Mother Theresa (Founder of Missionaries of Charity) As a leader I am secure and comfortable leading from behind, from the middle and or from out in front determined by the role that best fits the leadership demand.
