1. Repair CaféRepair Cafes are free, accessible meetings, where neighbors help each other on a voluntary basis to repair all kinds of objects. This goes from clothes to appliances, furniture and even bicycles and computers. Visitors take broken stuff from home, and start working with the (voluntary) experts, such as electricians, seamstresses, carpenters, .... In the Repair Café tools and materials are available to perform all kinds of reparations.

1. Repair CaféIn the Repair Café visitors learn that to repair things is a good alternative for just throwing things away and that this alternative is also accessible for them. Repair Café helps to reduce waste. In addition, it contributes to a change in attitude, which is needed to motivate people for a sustainable society. Finally Repair Café is also a social event: neighbors meet each other in a new and surprising way. This leads to new contacts in the area and promotes social cohesion.

2. Kwb and clean clothesWe all remember the collapse of the textile factory in Bangladesh, where hundreads of workers were killed. The Clean Clothes Campaign going on in 16 European countries is dedicated to improving working conditions and supporting the empowerment of workers in the global garment and sportswear industries.

2. Kwb and clean clothesTo give some insight in the global economic processes and to change attitudes of consumers a quiz can be an accessible instrument. Of course, this tool is just a start. Further awareness raising and the step to political action with the partners in the Clean Clothes Campaign are necessary.

Kwb and World Solidarity (third world organization) join forces. We choose resolutely to highlight clean clothes.

On april 24, 2013 a clothing factory in Bangladesh collapsed. 1.129 female clothing workers died. Many of them were at that time working for orders of Western clothing chains. Also your clothing is made in Bangladesh, just look on the label in your sweater, blouse or t-shirt. There is nothing wrong with that, only the Bengal clothing workers must be able to do this without to fear for their lives. Thei must have a living wage.

2. Kwb and clean clothesThe following two years, kwb puts on this theme an important emphasis. Because admit, you don't often find more kwb in one theme: we support our friends in the South, we strive that the clothing industry adjusts its policies, and we pay attention to our own clothes.

Supported by World Solidarity, kwb will over the next 2 years make themselves heard. In our local groups, with the clean clothes-quiz and with experience travelers. In the media, through our points of view, by the day of the kwb. Also in the South, through our experience travelers and through our financial solidarity.

2. Kwb and clean clothesLocal clean clothes-quiz

All our local groups are invited in January, February and March 2015 to join the clean clothes-quiz.

There are several possibilities:

1. the local group organizes a clean clothes-quiz during a whole evening

2. the local group organizes an annual quiz and brings that for one year on the theme of clean clothes.

3. the local group organizes their own general quiz and put one or more question rounds on the theme of clean clothes.

4. On a members meeting or another festive moment, the local group makes space free to a small clean clothes-quiz.

2. Kwb and clean clothesThe first two formulas World Solidarity provides the fully-fledged quiz and the animation material.For the last two formulas, World Solidarity gives the questions rounds with answers.

The emphasis is on entertainment. But with a solid layer of content. It is a contemporary quiz with knowledge questions, but also with to do-orders and gamble items.

There is also support material provided: placemats and kwb-napkins. In addition, there is, of course, the support of World Solidarity as already said.

The full quiz or the questions rounds with answers are provided free, as is the promotion and animation material.

The participation fee is also recorded autonomously by the local group.

It has been asked to, besides transferring the content story, also to make people to reflect on this issue. This is also asked to provide in creative ways a (financial) support to this action. This can for example by giving the opportunity to a "virtual" participant from Bangladesh to participate, and by paying his/her participation fee. Or for each consumption that a team takes, to provide an "extra drink" for this participant of clean clothes. Also own creative ways are always possible.

2. Kwb and clean clothesDay of the kwb: Saturday March 21, 2015 – the National Clean Clothes-quiz

From the teams which participate in the local quiz, can be found teams to participate in the National Clean Clothes-quiz. This can be the winning teams, but this is not obliged. Everyone can participate.

In addition to the kwb-teams and teams of World Solidarity, there will be also a series of well-known persons in this day of kwb. With this media stunt we want to attract attention and bring our message loud enough in the picture. Also our experience travelers are proposed, they are the ambassadors for this theme.

A number of people of kwb and World Solidarity leave in the spring of 2015 to Bangladesh for an experience journey.

These are not "well known" participants, but people from our local groups who want to raise these issues and they really want to change something about it. This experience travelers will, together with local workers movements, observe the local working conditions. They will not only observe the situation, but will no doubt experience difficulties.

After their return, information evenings about these problems will be organised. This experience travelers will tell their story everywhere in Flanders . In this way, we want to shake up the population about this issue. The goal is not only to raise awareness, but also to make clear how we can recognize clean clothes can (and especially the "not clean clothes). In this way, we can bring about a change in mentality: to learn the consumer how he/she can opt for clean clothes.

2. Kwb and clean clothesCampaign "we want clean clothes"

Not only the consumer is important. The Western retail chains that place orders in Bangladesh are also responsible for the working conditions on site. Do we want to produce as cheaply as possible to maximize profit? Or do we choose consciously for a fair purchase, with fair payment and human working conditions.

This is addressed to retail chains to put active steps towards clean clothes. In concrete terms, to create safe and healthy working conditions, livable wages, trade union freedom and independent control of the clothing industry.

For this purpose, the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) was founded. Some clothing chains and especially smaller companies have already signed the charter. The negotiations with a number of other chains are already at an advanced stage, ready to finish. Therefore, a spring campaign was launched in 2014. But there is obviously still much to be done.

3. Velo ProjectIn Flanders (the northern part of Belgium) about 26.000 persons are working in the so called Social Economy. The aims of social economy projects are: sustainable integration in society, the fight against social exclusion, the right to participate in society by giving opportunities for self expression and dignity

Velo ProjectThe Velo project is a specific social economy project trying to accomplish these aims for handicapped, low educated and aged persons from different cultural backgrounds by giving them a technical training in repairing bicycles. At the same time a working attitude is stimulated, so participants are empowered to find a job in the regular economy after some time. Currently the Velo project in Leuven has 120 employees.

4. Aktion FührerscheinMit dem Auto fahren können: vielleicht ein notwendiges Übel um in unserer Gesellschaft zu partizipieren. Jedenfalls gibt es jährlich tausenden meistens junge Leute die in diesem Lernprozess einsteigen um einen Führerschein zu bekommen. In Flandern gibt es bis heute die Möglichkeit das diesen Lernprozess von Freiwilligen begleitet wird

4. Aktion FührerscheinUm diesen Begleiter zu unterstützen hat der flämische Verein kwb einen Kurs entwickelt. Das Angebot lauft über zwei Abenden. Im ersten Abend können die Teilnehmer (meistens die Eltern) eine Erfrischung ihrer Erkenntnis der Verkehrsordnung bekommen. Im zweiten Abend wird auseinandergesetzt wie man Schritt für Schritt das Prozess des Autofahrens aufbaut. Verschiedene Ziele werden erreicht: die Eigeninitiative aktivieren, die Kosten niedrig halten, die Möglichkeit bieten lange Zeit zu üben um die Fahr- und Verkehrssicherheit zu fördern.

Die Vorbereitung dazu kann mit einer Fahrschule
