ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

he Pragati Engineering College started an undergraduate (B.Tech.) program in Civil

Engineering in the year 2012, in order to meet the educational needs of the construction

industry. The Department of Civil Engineering caters to the regional and global human

resource requirements. The institution is located in the widespread area and therefore the students

and teachers of the department get benefited through theoretical and field interaction.

The department is committed to strengthen the academic, research and functional abilities

of the students, in order to enable them to stand as competent and versatile professionals after

graduation. The department strives to enhance research activity in the department, thereby

creating competent intellectual resources to the students. Civil Engineering is one of the oldest

and ancient branches of engineering which houses a lot of practical knowledge and with which

the day to day life of mankind is modernized.

The department building houses well-equipped laboratories. The department conducts

various events for revealing scientific, engineering, and technological advances to students.

Students participate in events and national level contests, conducted by various institutes.

Impart ethical technical knowledge of global standards in the field of Civil engineering in order to

meet new challenges in professional and research environment.

DM1: To train professionals in the field of Civil Engineering, who can contribute to the Industry,

Research & Development and also shoulder the social responsibility.

DEPARTMENT:

PEO-1: Graduates will excel as successful Civil Engineers, Academicians and Researchers.

PEO-2: Graduates of the programme will continue to engage in lifelong learning, exhibit ethical

attitude, good communication skills, managerial skills, team work and social responsibility.

PEO-3: Graduates of the programme will explore and apply the modern Engineering tools for

Planning and Designing of various Civil Engineering projects that are technically and

economically viable.

WORKSHOPS:

1. Two days workshop wasorganized for III B.Tech Civil Engineering Students on the topic of

“SLABS DESIGN & FOUNDATION ENGINEERING” in association with TVR Training

Institute and consultancy, Visakhapatnam on 17th and 18th of July 2018 at Pragati Engineering

college. The Workshop was organized in E-classroom, Civil Engineering Block for 30 members

of II B.Tech students Civil Engineering .

Main Theme of this institute is to bridge the gap between the industries and the institutes

by teaching and training the students on practical civil engineering across the country.
