What are “Standards”?
1 •Start with the Standard: Example: Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
2 •Convert Standard to Student Learning Target: Example: I can infer from the text based on background knowledge and evidence from the text.
3 •Teaching and Assessing: Rubrics and Criteria for Success are created by teaching teams. Students use them to work toward standards and teachers use them to measure progress.
