The material does not react with the food and will not add any
additional taste to food served.
All manner of wet foods can be served without the plate or bowl
becoming soggy and losing its integrity and the areca leaf plates can be
washed and used again for a limited time depending on how they are
used.

and plastics disposables.

The Arecanut Sheaths (Leaf) fallen from trees in the farms are
collected.
Then it is soaked in water. While in water it is brushed and cleaned and
purified.
After cleaning it is kept separately allowing it to dry.
The dried sheaths are inserted in heat pressing machine (Manual
operated & Hydralic operated) where relevant shape metal mould fixed
and pressed on the sheath to get different shapes & sizes.
And is again kept separately allowing to dry completely.
The Plates are trimmed and again cleaned.
The products undergo a final inspection and are packed in bags.

Arecanut leaf plates are made from the sheath of arecanut
(betelnut) plants which falls along with the leaf. Though the
betelnut is used widely in various forms yet the sheath
attached to the leaf of arecanut tree is used in a limited
manner. Researches carried out by Central Food Technology
Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore have demonstrated that
the Arecanut sheaths (extension of the leaf) could be
utilized for the manufacture of plates/bowls.
