Give us the strength to play our part in an end to discrimination and to work for change and justice.God of heaven and earth, you raised Saint Edward, king and confessor, to excel in good government and faithful service. On this day when we remember him, may these ideals survive and flourish among us and those who lead us. Loving God, on Anti-Slavery Day we pray we learn to notice the unnoticed and set free the oppressed. Let your name and your church be a light that shines on those hidden in slavery. Help your people raise their voices in unison against this crime. We pray for Crewkerne Deanery: for continued respect in our churches for the Covid-cautious; new PCC members; Christopher Davies’ new role as Rector of Wulfric Benefice; the Merriott Benefice Wilder Churches & Eco-Church initiatives; the reordering project at St Michael's Haselbury, and for the Wadham School Chaplaincy Project.

We give thanks for the peaceful transition to a new government in Zambia; we pray for President Hakainde Hichilema, that he & his ministers may remember their humble roots, be faithful to their promises, serve the people rather than themselves, and lead the nation to peace, justice and sustainable prosperity.

Jesus, pioneer and perfecter of our faith, we pray for the diocesan Pioneer Project Board as it meets today. We give thanks for the work done under the leadership of Tina Hodgett and pray for discernment as that work moves forward into your future.

We pray for the Vacancy in See Committee as they reflect on feedback about our next bishop from around the diocese and our communities. Help them distil the important messages to take forward and work together well for the good of all.

We pray for our Diocesan Synod, with its role in the shaping and decision making of the diocese. Give its members wisdom, discernment and a willingness to listen attentively to one another and to seek the common good.

Heavenly Father we pray for the people and places in the Bath Archdeaconry - remembering all who live and work there. We pray for Adrian, Archdeacon of Bath that he may be strengthened to lead and encourage those with whom he works and serves.

Eternal God, we pray for those who care for our church buildings, with all the pressure and responsibility that entails. Strengthen them in their work so that our churches can be places of prayer and welcome – a visible sign of your love and presence in the world.

We pray with Alfred the Great, who we remember today: O Father of that Son who has awakened us, you still urge us out of the sleep of our sins and call us to become yours. To you, Lord, we pray; you, the supreme truth, for all truth that is, is from you.

Heavenly Father we pray for the people and places in the Wells Archdeaconry - remembering all who live and work there. We pray for Anne, Archdeacon of Wells that she may be strengthened to lead and encourage those with whom she works and serves.

Lord, help us to be message bringers, hope bringers, joy announcers, through the words of the good news of Jesus! May our lives be examples of what it means to have life in all its fullness.

Loving God, we give thanks for all those who serve unseen. Bless those who quietly serve You and their communities by acts of kindness and practical service. Help us to notice what is done for us by those who are easily overlooked.

Heavenly Father we pray for the people and places in the Taunton Archdeaconry - remembering all who live and work there. We pray for Simon, Archdeacon of Taunton that he may be strengthened to lead and encourage those with whom he works and serves.

Heavenly Father, on this All Hallows Eve, we bring to you our fears; the coming of winter darkness; the cold thin place between waking and sleep. Bring comfort to those who need it and calm to those who are fearful.
