From Brother Buck… We have seen two young people receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour. One of them was Riquone Bazil, an eight-year-old boy. He came to church on a Sunday night and asked to be saved. He prayed (without any help from us) as serious a prayer as we have ever heard from a child in his age group, asking Jesus to be his Saviour and save him from his sins. Even though we had no local power, and the generator would not start, God still performed his saving work. (By the way, the generator started the next morning.) Then on Saturday, June 22, Charlene McIntyre got saved as well. One of our teen girls, Sassy Robinson, had evidently been concerned about Charlene and asked her if she was saved. Charlene said that she was not. Sassy informed Shannon about it. Shannon talked to Charlene about salvation, and she asked Jesus Christ to save her. What a blessing and an encouragement! Praise the Lord!” Here are a couple of prayer requests: - “Please pray as we start to plan and make preparations for Vacation Bible School. We are going to hold it during some time in August. Our prayer is that many children would hear the Gospel message and be saved. Thank you once again for all your prayers and encouragement! May God bless you and your families and your churches as you continue to live for him and serve him!” Looking unto Jesus, Buck & Shannon Woodworth Proverbs 3:5-6 _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Runyon’s Up-Date… Our Future Is In The Lord’s Hands... The work that we started in Port Kaituma has been turned over to Brother Buck, who will continue on in his position as the new “Missionary/Pastor” of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. As you know by now, we left the jungle on the morning of November 10, 2012. Our desire to go back to Guyana will take us to the Capitol city. However, this furlough has really been extended because of all the surgeries! At present it is impossi- ble to come up with a target date for our return. I am awaiting at least 3 more surgeries. The next one being number 4 on my throat which was damaged by the tubes while I was in the coma for nearly 1 month. The last major surgery involved cutting and splicing my wind pipe back together and the place- ment of a “Trachea”. I am NOT supposed to talk until the next surgery on July 19th. A smaller trachea will be put in and I may be able to talk with a valve over the hole. Please pray about this. The surgery is very close to my vocal cords. It will take several more months and one more throat surgery (?) before they can do the much needed repairs on my “abdomen”. They might attempt to move the permanent colostomy bag to the other side and repair 2 hernias that continue to get worse. This is tentatively scheduled for Dec. or Jan. and will put me in the hospital for one month. Even then I will need time to “heal up” before going back to the field. This could set us back for almost a year from now… At pre- sent, we are here in DeLand, Florida and staying at our “Home Church”. Patty and I are working with the staff here and planning the V.B.S. in August. We are excited about this opportunity to serve! We Are Concerned… Thank you for your patience during this healing time. Our support level seems to be holding up and we are able to send a good portion of our support to keep up the work in Guyana. Brother Buck did not raise enough money to do what he is doing. Originally, he just came to help us and now he has the whole load… We are also trying to purchase a motorhome for when we are able to travel to present the work at our supporting churches! We are also hoping to get in some new churches to raise some additional funds to cover the expense of the new work in the big city. Please pray about this. Many of you have supported us for years, and for that we are eternally grateful… For those who are considering supporting the mission work, here is a link to that page on our website: http://www.dailyscripturesongs.com/support-the-runyons.html (Listen to the song from Acts 20:35) In Closing Pray... for our up-coming V.B.S. here in DeLand, Florida. Pray... for fruit to come from the many tracts that we have enjoyed passing out as we witness where ever we are! Pray... for a blind man named, “John Williams”. Patty witnessed to him and Bro. Jed, (from our church) who works with the blind, is doing the follow up! Pray... for Cheo & Charlene, our twins in Guyana, (13 yrs. old, July 28). They will be relocating to the city to stay with a family that will care for them until our return and pending adoption! Thank you... for loving us and our Lord through these years. We look forward to the day that we can visit you. Until then visit us on our web site: WWW.DailyScriptureSongs.Com I have included our new “Prayer Card”… Please let me know how many more you need.
