FOOD PANTRY We continue to ask for your support with donations for our Food Pantry, it is always a great help! Please place donations in the Barrel marked Food Pantry. Listed are

some suggestions: 1lb.and 2lb. bags of white rice and beans, pasta, canned soups, chili, peanut butter and jam. We have a need for men’s TUBE SOCKS AND USABLE SLEEPING BAGS. We no longer are taking egg cartons. PLEASE WE

DO NOT TAKE CLOTHING, TOYS, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

THE ALTAR SOCIETY

The Altar Society will once again be in charge of the

CAKE SPIN BOOTH AT THE OKTOBERFEST. We would

like to invite donations of cakes, cookies and other baked goods from our Resurrection bakers.

You can drop off your donations to the church on Saturday Sept. 10th between 8am and noon. You may

also bring them to the office on Sept. 9th before noon. Thank you for your delicious donations…we appreciate your help.

Dear Parishoners, In the past several months Bishop Vasa has intiated a process to reorganize the legal and canonical status of the parishes in the diocese. Previously each parish was included as a part of the “Roman Catholic Bishop of Santa Rosa, a Corporation Sole”. This meant that all properties were held as a part of the Corporation Sole. Our bishop would like to incorporate each parish individually. Ours would read “Pastor of Resurrection Catholic Church of Santa Rosa, A Corporation Sole”. This change would bring the status of the parish(es) into conformity with the Code of Canon Law which envisions each parish as a separate juridicial entity under the authority of the Bishop. Some question…why do this now? What effect will it have on the parishes? Do we have to get our own insurance, medical coverage, etc? To explain all this, the Bishop is inviting those interested to an informational gathering in Windsor at the Furth Center at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish on September 6th at 7:00pm. SARAH HART IS BRINGING GIFTS… Sarah Hart is bringing us the gifts of the Holy Spirit, her new retreat experience. Those who have attended one of her retreats before know that Sarah brings her personal stories into the day filled with fun, songs, prayer, scripture and discussion time. So mark your calendars and register early for a day you won’t soon forget. When: Saturday, October 22nd Where: Right here at Resurrection Cost: $25 for early registration, after October 16th it will be $35.00. Ticket sales start September 1st. AED…..Automated External Defibrillator. HAVE YOU7

NOTICED IT??? Not to worry! Medical personnel will know

what to do and the defibrillator is also self explanatory. The

important thing to know is if a parishioner goes down and you

witness it, ask someone to call 911 and then check to see if the

person is breathing (place hand over their mouth or nose).

Someone who knows CPR will show up and take over.

ANNOUNCEMENT Please welcome a new part time staff person. Nick Kahn has been hired to clean and stock the bathrooms between the 10:30 and 12:30 pm Masses. Due to the heavy traffic during these times we found it necessary to increase our janitorial hours. If you see him, please stop and say Hi and say welcome to the staff!

REMINDER Did you know that the Lions club collects unwanted glasses to

recylcle and be used by someone who might otherwise not have the means to afford a pair of glasses to see better????? Rummage through your drawers and shelves and bring them to the office where we have a collection box. Our parishoners Sandy and Pat Mottard collect them to be dispersed to their Lions organization. Thank you! Si tienen lentes que no usan y estan por su casa, puedes donarles al club de LIONS. El club donan los lentes a
