Be rest assured, you have made the best choice in choosing NITIE and will definitely provide you a challenging but rewarding professional career. But as it is said “Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy”. Life at NITIE is challenging,

and expects every individual to be on their best to get the best. To offer you a

flavor of what you can expect in the coming days and also to make you equipped

for the hurdles ahead, we have prepared a set of pre-joining assignments which

you need to complete before you start your journey to NITIE. Just assure that you

give your 100% in completing your assignments, and please have that in mind, it’s

for your own good.

Instructions

The assignments have to be prepared in softcopy format only.

The assignments should be in the following format

i. Font Calibri

ii. Font Size : 11

iii. Line Spacing: 1.15

Deadline for submission of the same is 23:59:59 hours, 10th June 2014.

Collate your work in a zip folder and send it to the following email id:

Name convention for zip file : Assignment_Firstname_Lastname.zip (eg.

Assignment_Ravi_Singh)

Subject line for the mail will be: Pre-Joining Assignment Submission (

Firstname_Lastname)

These submissions will be a critical element in evaluating a candidate for

membership to various student bodies in NITIE. No excuses for non-

submission or late submission will be entertained.

Know Yourself

This assignment is focused in making you understand your strength and weakness

so that you can have a dedicated approach to work on your personality and

groom yourself. Complete the below listed questions in 100-200 words for each

question. And please be honest while answering them.

Write one paragraph about yourself and also put in three words that

completely describe your personality

Do a SWOT analysis of your personality (Each group should have at least 5,

with proper justification)

What are you doing to overcome the weaknesses in your personality?

Why have you chosen NITIE?

What are your short term and long term goals?

How would NITIE help you achieve your goals in life?

Describe an incident that had a deep impact on you and has brought a

significant change in you

Describe an incident when you experienced failure. What could have been

done differently to prevent such a situation?

1. Study the “Basic Supply Chain “PPT sent to you with the mail to get an

understanding of supply chain concepts.

2. Correlate the knowledge gained above and analyze the supply chain model and

practices of any three of the following companies (Choose one from each group).

Explain with the help of a PPT for each company in a separate presentation file,

with naming convention like <company-name>_<student-name>. Slide can be

between 3-5 (Excluding title and thank-you slide) . Also make sure you explain in

your own words.

Book Review

Read the book “The Goal” by Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldratt and summarize the same in a

document file in not more than 750 words.

NOTE: Do have the physical copy of the book, either bought or taken print of the

PDF sent. It is mandatory to have the book hard-copy when you enter the

campus.

The best review would be awarded and will get a chance to write articles for the

college magazines moving ahead.
