Mission statement My magazine is aimed at 16-19 year olds who currently go to the Douay Martyrs School. The magazine will be irresistible thanks to the fun and informative style. Also, it will be visually stimulating and will never bore its reader with too much text. My magazine’s main goal is for all sixth formers to be interested in reading it and talking about it in the common room, whilst also keeping the audience intrigued for the next issue. The magazine aims to offer its readers an entertaining and detailed way to get all the best gossip and tips on life as a sixth former. Issues will be distributed monthly to ensure that there is enough content for each issue, without readers getting bored. It will be given out in form to every student, but will also be available from a stand in the common room. There will be many topics in my magazine, but I will be focusing on fashion and music, driving lessons, best revision tips, and part time job vacancies as these are the things I would most like to see in a magazine, and they are all related to the typical sixth former’s interests and needs. The magazine will give readers tips and information on how to survive sixth form. My magazine will feature different types of articles, including a picture page to show off best fashion tips, and other sneak peels of articles in the magazine. There will also be quizzes towards the end of the magazine, and main articles for the meatier stories.

Mission statement

My magazine is aimed at 16-19 year olds who currently go to the Douay Martyrs School. The magazine will be irresistible thanks to

the fun and informative style. Also, it will be visually stimulating and will never bore its reader with too much text. My magazine’s main goal is for all sixth formers to be interested in reading it and

talking about it in the common room, whilst also keeping the audience intrigued for the next issue. The magazine aims to offer

its readers an entertaining and detailed way to get all the best gossip and tips on life as a sixth former. Issues will be distributed

monthly to ensure that there is enough content for each issue, without readers getting bored. It will be given out in form to every

student, but will also be available from a stand in the common room.

There will be many topics in my magazine, but I will be focusing on fashion and music, driving lessons, best revision tips, and part time job vacancies as these are the things I would most like to see in a

magazine, and they are all related to the typical sixth former’s interests and needs. The magazine will give readers tips and

information on how to survive sixth form. My magazine will feature different types of articles, including a picture page to show off best

fashion tips, and other sneak peels of articles in the magazine. There will also be quizzes towards the end of the magazine, and

main articles for the meatier stories.

I promise to deliver my target audience with an interesting, up to date magazine addressing all of the favourite things of sixth

formers. My magazine will benefit its target audience by meeting the needs of Blumler and Katz in the uses and gratifications

theory. My audience will be educated as they’ll be given information on how to survive sixth form; they’ll be kept up to date on what’s going on, and also what the best way to revise is, etc. It will aim to entertain the audience by providing them with quizzes

and competitions, and giving them something to read when they’re in the common room or at home. Social interaction will be met because the audience will be able to talk to other people about

what they’ve read in the magazine, and by entering competitions. It also helps the readers to escape from their lives and their worries

by getting into the magazine and finding solutions to those worries, as well as being given a diversion.

Abraham Maslow says that human beings have needs that must be satisfied in order to be happy, and has placed them in a

pyramid to show the importance of each. My magazine allows then audience to boost their self esteem and self actualisation by

winning competitions or feeling like they can be the best they can be by following the tips and advice.
