Jason Garrett was named the eighth head coach in Dallas Cowb

history on January 5, 2011. Garrett, who played for or worked

alongside five of his predecessors, became the first former Dalla

Cowboys player to become the teams head coach.

Having literally grown up around successful head coaches in the

NFL and in the Dallas Cowboys family, Garrett was a member of

three Super Bowl winning teams in the 1990s during his seven s

sons as a Cowboys quarterback. His father, Jim, was a personne

scout for the team for 21 years and served under every Super Bo

winning head coach and ownership regime in franchise history.

As a player in Dallas, Garrett learned under championship coachJimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer, while serving as a back-up

to Troy Aikman in offenses directed by Norv Turner and Ernie

Zampese. He went on to play for the New York Giants who reach

Super Bowl XXXV while playing for offensive coordinator Sean

Payton. Garrett finished his playing days while studying under Jo

Gruden in Tampa Bay and started his coaching career with the

Miami Dolphins, where he worked under two-time collegiate natio

    championship head coach, Nick Saban.

teams interim head coach at the midpoint of the 2010 season. H

1-7 record to a 5-3 mark down the stretch. In the seasons secon

FISHER ERA BEGINS IN ST. LOUIS

n January, Jeff Fisher became the

6th full-time head coach in Rams his-ory. Fisher returned to the NFL after a

ne-year hiatus. He previously spent6 seasons as the head coach of the

    Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans.

Fisher is among the winningest head

oaches of his era. Among activeoaches, hes tied with Giants Head

    Coach Tom Coughlin for third-mostictories.

He and Coughlin are tied for 19thn the NFLs all-time wins list for the regular season, and

Fishers first victory as Rams head coach will allow him toe Hall of Famer Marv Levy on the all-time list at 143.

    . Mike Shanahan 157

    t. Tom Coughlin 142

    . Andy Reid 126

Throughout his career,Fisher has been lauded for

his ability to relate to play-ers and get the most out of

them. That keen skill set is

due in large part to Fisherspersonal experience. He

enjoyed a five-year playingcareer with the Chicago

Bears as a defensive backand punt returner.

Fisher is one of nine cur-

rent NFL head coacheswho also played in the

    league. Of those nine, three

were teammates at one time with the Bears: Fisher, Ron

    Rivera and Leslie Frazier.

Hallmarks of a Fisher-led team includea stout rushing defense, the ability to

possess the ball with a strong runninggame and poise in the midst of adver-

sity. In 11 of his 16 seasons in Ten-nessee, the Titans defense ranked in

the top 10 against the run and rankedfourth in rushing defense over thatperiod (Baltimore, Pittsburgh, San Di-

than Fishers clubs. Additionally, in 12 of Fishers 16 seasonthe Titans finished with an average time of possession of m

than 31 minutes per game for the season.

Fisher believes in the philosophy that a strong running gam

helps control the clock and keeps your defense fresh. In 12of his last 14 seasons in Tennessee, the Titans finished in th

top half of the NFL in rushing offense, including seven top 1

finishes. Additionally, in 12 of the last 15 seasons, the Titans

finished with an average time of possession number of morthan 31 minutes for the season.

If I had a franchise, what coach would I hire? His name is

Jeff Fisher. He is so good. Hes still young enough that he crelate with the players on the team. Hes one of the brightesif not the brightest, coaches in the league. As a former playehe knows how to work a locker room. Hes just sensational.

schemes on defense are very good and imaginative. Hes geverything. -ESPN.com Senior Writer John Clayton

Jeff is one of the most competitive and intelligent players tIve ever coached. He was not overly gifted as a player, bumade up for it by being the fiercest competitor and one of tmost intelligent people that Ive known playing this game thats been the hallmark of his coaching career. He under-stands the entire game and is a leader more than anythingelse. He will be in command of the entire team. The Rams reflect Jeff Fisher and the kind of person he is. It will be a gera for the Rams. - Former Rams Head Coach John Robin

Jeff has a history of developing fundamentally sound butphysically intimidating football teams. St. Louis is fortunate have a leader for its franchise with such impeccable credentials. - Falcons President Rich McKay, with whom Fisher cchaired the NFLs Competition Committee

In 14 years of NFL football, Jeff Fisher is one of two coachthat I have the most respect for. The St. Louis Rams are luto have Fisher as their head coach. - Former Rams and TDE Kevin Carter

LES IS M OREes Snead was named Rams general

    manager on February 14, 2012.

ust three weeks after taking his new job,

Snead executed a trade that helped jump-tart the Rams rebuilding efforts. In early

March, Snead sent the second overall pickn the 2012 NFL Draft to the Washington

Redskins in exchange for the sixth and9th selections in this years draft as well

s Washingtons first round picks in both013 and 2014.

When draft day arrived, Snead made twodditional trades which parlayed the teams

riginal first round pick into four 2012

elections. The Rams acquired a third pick in the second roundn this years draft when they traded the sixth overall pick to the

Dallas Cowboys in exchange for the 14th and 45th picks. Sneadhen sent the 45th pick to Chicago for the 50th pick as well as a

fth-round pick in this years draft.

When all the dealing was done, the Rams made four of the first 50

elections in the 2012 Draft, and Snead and the Rams selected 10

layers who they believe will help the team return to the top of theNFC West.

Sneads meticulous effort on draft weekend told only part of the

tory of his early efforts to retool the Rams roster. On the openingay of free agency, Snead signed Pro Bowl CB Cortland Finnegan,

ormerly of the Tennessee Titans. In the coming days, Snead alsoed the efforts to acquire Pro Bowl C Scott Wells and DT Kendall

angford, an ascending player whom the team views as a key

uilding block on the defensive line. Sneads first free agency class

included 14 veteran free agents whom the club will count on heav2012.

In his role as general manager, Snead oversees the clubs person

department and scouting efforts while partnering with Head CoachFisher to direct all personnel decisions for the club. In addition, Sn

coordinates all aspects of the clubs football operations with the he

    coach.

Prior to joining the Rams, Snead spent 13 seasons with the Atlant

Falcons. He served as the clubs director of player personnel from2009-11 and also held posts as a pro scout and as the Falcons di

    tor of pro personnel.

Snead helped construct a roster that has been one of the NFLs beover the last few years. From 2008-11, the Falcons had four conse

tive winning seasons, winning 43 games during that time, which a

the fifth-most wins in the NFL over that time period. Atlanta earnedplayoff berths in each of the last two seasons and three of the last

seasons, including a 2010 NFC South Championship. The Falconparticipated in one Super Bowl and two NFC Championship game

during Sneads tenure with the club.

Snead joined the Falcons after three seasons (1995-97) in the pro

scouting department of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was hired byJaguars prior to the franchises first season and helped put togeth

team that garnered an AFC Championship Game berth in just its sond year of existence. Jacksonville won its first division title in Sne

    final year with the team.

Snead played tight end for Auburn from 1992-93 and was part of t

Tigers perfect 11-0 team in 1993. He also earned Southeast RegiAcademic All-American honors during his college career.
