Piecing Instructions

1. Begin quilt block assembly by completing strip sets. Complete the following strip sets using the fabric combinations and sizes listed. Sew together each strip set lengthwise. Complete each fabric combination once. From each strip set cut (24) 1¾” units as shown in the diagram.

Repeat each strip twice. (Strip sets created in Step 1a-1j made (24) units. (26) units are needed for block completion. Step 2 provides additional units identical to those made in above steps.)

3. Sew together blocks as shown in the diagram. Each block will contain (10) 1¾’’ units, (1) in each colorway, created in the above steps. Press all seams in the same direction.

4. Repeat to create (26) blocks. Blocks should measure 12½” unfinished.

Quilt Assembly

5. Begin quilt assembly by laying out the quilt top as shown in the diagram on Page 5. The quilt top uses (26) blocks and (4) Fabric A 12½” squares. Some blocks will be turned 180° and sewn to other blocks to give the appearance of a long continuous block.

6. Begin sewing the quilt top together in horizontal block rows as shown in the diagram. Alternate the direction in which you press the seams in each row.

7. Sew together the horizontal block rows to complete the quilt top center.

8. Begin assembling Border 1 by sewing (1) Fabric A 1½” x WOF strip and (1) shorter Fabric A 1½” strip together end to end. Repeat twice and trim both strips to 1½” x 62½” for the top/bottom borders.

9. Continue Border 1 assembly by sewing (2) Fabric A 1½” x WOF strips together end to end. Repeat twice and trim both strips to 1½” x 72½” for the sides of the quilt.

10. Begin assembling Border 2 by sewing (2) Fabric J 3½” x WOF strips together end to end. Repeat (4) times. Trim (2) of the strips to 3½” x 74½” for the sides of the quilt. Trim the remaining (2) strips to 3½” x 68½” for the top/bottom of the quilt.

11. Attach Border 1 to the quilt top by sewing the side borders onto the quilt top first, followed by the top/bottom borders.

12. Attach Border 2 to the quilt top by sewing the sides borders onto the quilt top first, followed by the top/bottom borders.

Finishing

13. With the backing fabric laying taut, place batting and then quilt top to form quilt sandwich.

14. Baste and quilt as desired.

15. Attach Fabric G binding to complete quilt.
