Designed to provide cost effective, reliable control valves for use in low-pressure applications, the high performance Series 8000 valves feature a stainless steel disc with either a soft, or stainless steel seal ring. The soft seal option provides excellent sealing capabilities in both directions. The pressure-assisted stainless steel alternative delivers excellent shut-off against pressure applied in the recommended flow direction for both liquid and gas applications.

Construction materials

A wide range of standard materials is available for both the valve pressure parts and trim. These include carbon and stainless steel, duplex/super duplex and high nickel alloys. Stellite, and other hard facings/coatings are available. For full details of materials please contact us.

Paint

A wide range of paint finishes is available including enamel, alkyd gloss and a choice of epoxy types.

Clean build

Severn Glocon adheres to high clean build standards including oxygen clean and an ultra high purity clean room.

Inspection & testing

Severn Glocon undertakes the highest levels of inspection and testing which meet international and customer requirements.

Actuation

We offer a wide range of actuators including Series P Linear Spring Pneumatic Cylinders, Series N Numotor Pneumatic Pistons and Series W Diaphragm Spring Pneumatic Actuators. In addition electric, hydraulic, electro hydraulic actuators and manually operated versions are available.

Instruments

A wide range of control instruments is available from Severn Glocon including positioners, air-filter regulators, volume boosters, solenoid valves, and lock-up valves.

Anti cavitation & low noise

A special trim offers increased resistance to cavitation and a reduction in noise levels on higher pressure drop applications, by improving the valve’s Cf and Ki values.

The design extends the rangeability of conventional butterfly valve discs by ensuring stable and progressively smooth operation in the nearly closed positions of the valve.

Control duties through the full 90° of operation can be utilised. Accurate and repeatable inherent flow characteristics are obtained. The standard is based upon the modified equal percentage curve, others are available for matching a wide range of control system requirements.

Baffle plates

Baffle plates or noise diffusers can be fitted into flanged body styles, or supplied loose. As many as four can be fitted which reduce noise further by splitting the pressure drop so that the pressure recovery factor is reduced.

Baffle plates can be fitted in conjunction with anti cavitation/low noise discs, or they can be offered separately, depending on the application requirements.

04 Series 8000 Butterfly Valves

Valve body style option The Series 8000 valve is available in three basic body styles – wafer, lugged or flanged. Many parts are interchangeable, with the exception of the valve bodies.

Disc & seat construction Double offset and eccentric disc mounting reduces maintenance costs and downtime, even under frequent operation, by minimising the interference between seat and disc to prolong seat life. The seats are held rigidly by the seat retainer which is inserted within the body per API 609 design requirements.

Metal seat & soft seat The virgin PTFE seat has a flexi lip to provide bubble tight shut off in both directions.

Other rigid seats including glass filled PTFE, EPDM and Viton allow a clean flow passage and prevent the deposit of fluid within the seat. Rigid seats allow unidirectional flow (shaft side inlet) providing tight shutoff under positive and vacuum applications.

Flexible metal seats like die pressed stainless steel seats with in built flexibility gives Class IV leakage with minimal torque requirements.
