Joint Strike Fighter — US DefenseSecretary Robert Gates recentlyannounced that the Department ofDefense would buy more than 2,400JSFs — 500 of them in the next fiveyears. Esterline’s avionics systems andengineered materials play a significantrole in the performance of this cutting-edge strike aircraft destined to supportthe U.S. Navy, Air Force and Marines aswell as our allies abroad.

Trent-XWB — Esterline AdvancedSensors recently entered into a partner-ship with leading jet engine manufacturerRolls-Royce to supply about 30 separatecomponents to the sensors package oftheir new Trent XWB engine (notshown). The Trent XWB engine is theonly engine for the new Airbus A350XWB family of aircraft. To date, Rolls-Royce has received over 1,000 ordersfor Trent XWB engines. Delivery of thefirst Esterline products for the engine isscheduled to begin in early 2010.

787 Dreamliner — Esterline products are found throughout the Boeing 787.From pilot controls in the cockpit toenvironmental sensors in the cabin anda wide array of specialized materialsfrom nose to tail, Esterline solutions arehelping Boeing achieve a new perform-ance standard with this innovative newaircraft.

T-6B Trainer — Esterline has receivedthe first production order for the integrated avionics system on theHawker Beechcraft T-6B Texan traineraircraft. The system includes the integrated avionics computer, the up-front control panel, and head-up andother multifunction displays. The avionicssystem gives the T-6B a state-of-the-art,open architecture avionics suite that mirrors the systems and capabilities oftoday’s front-line military aircraft.
