Students have the opportunity to complete their course clinical experiences in New Hanover and surrounding SE NC counties. CURRICULUM The learning outcomes of the curriculum incorporate the professional values of client-centered care (altruism, human dignity and autonomy), lifelong learning (clinical reasoning and integrity) and quality improvement (research and social justice). The purpose of this baccalaureate program is to prepare generalists who possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes with which to practice family-centered professional nursing in a variety of current and emerging health care delivery systems. In addition, the program is designed to provide a foundation for graduate nursing education. WHAT DO NURSES DO? DIVERSE FACULTY Our highly qualified instructors are committed to student success. They help students prepare for NCLEX with a pass rate of 97%, compared to the national average of 86%. Median salary of $67,490 in 2015 and employment of registered nurses is projected to grow 16% from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

• Application deadlines are Dec. 15 and July 1. Students accepted for the Dec. deadline will begin NSG courses the following fall; those accepted for the July deadline will being NSG courses the following spring.

• Students must be admitted to UNCW before applying to NSG. Transfer students should plan to apply to UNCW at least three months before NSG application deadlines.

• 50 students are admitted to each cohort.

ADMISSIONS

Students should apply to the NSG program after completing a minimum of fi ve prerequisite courses: CHM 101, PSY 105, one BIO, one MAT or STT, and one SOC or ECN. Students must also complete the TEAS Assessment to apply.

Admission scores are comprised 75% of prerequisite GPA and 25% of TEAS score. Average prerequisite GPAs for each accepted cohort range from 3.6 to 3.9.
