ACADEMY HIGHLIGHTS
Hands-On Sessions Back again are Hands-On Sessions where you’ll be able to follow along in the program as the instructor guides you
through technical training. Seating will be limited and these sessions sold out quickly last year, so register early to
reserve your spot in the Hands-On classroom.
The Hub Computer Lab Monday – 1pm to 6:30pm | Tuesday – 8:30am to 6:00pm | Wednesday – 8:30am to 6:30pm
The Hub is the epicenter of the AssetWorks Academy. This hands-on computer lab stays open until 6:30pm each
evening so you have the chance to try out some of the new system features at your own pace – with an
AssetWorks staff member right there to answer all your questions. All our products and modules will be available
on these computers, as well as our FuelFocus Island Controller, KeyValet system and other handheld devices.
Product Orientation Session for New(er) Users Whether your company has just deployed AssetWorks solutions or you have just started using our products, this
orientation session can be a valuable primer to give you a basic overview of the technology, terminology and
navigation.
Product User Group Meetings One of the most beneficial aspects of the AssetWorks Academy is the ability to talk face-to-face with your fleet
peers. Led by FleetFocus Users with AssetWorks staff present for questions, the User Group Meetings cover new
and existing functionality. This is a great chance to learn from other users and share your expertise.
Extended Training AssetWorks is proud to present an additional half-day of training (for a nominal fee) to further address the “how
to’s” of accomplishing day-to-day tasks. These open forums will give you a chance to ask questions of the product
experts. Multiple sessions are offered. Please note these are not hands-on training sessions.
Cross Product Roundtables Focused on industry topics and timely issues, the Cross Product Roundtables encourage open discussions about the
challenges facing the industry today. The idea is to generate productive discussions about real world experience
and solutions. These sessions are open to any product line.

Capital Asset Management (CAM) Course Listings CAM is a new product from AssetWorks that helps organizations track the full life-cycle of their vehicles and
equipment (www.assetworks.com/products/cam) and integrates with both FA and M5. The following courses are
available for both FA and M5 customers. Courses are listed alphabetically.
Capital Asset
Management (CAM)
Overview
This session is available to all AssetWorks customers and will provide an overview of
the CAM application for those interested in the CAM product. The session will
review the CAM implementation process as well as the two primary functional
processes in CAM: Procurement & Disposal, and Analytics & Planning.
CAM Business
Intelligence [CAM]
CAM integrates with FleetFocus to extract and summarize key fleet operating cost
information to populate its data mart. Additionally, CAM generates data for
managing procurement, disposal, planning and budgeting. This session will review
CAM’s integrated Business Intelligence tools that include developing ad-hoc and
saved queries, dashboards and visualizations.
Forecasting and
Planning Assets [CAM]
The newest CAM module allows customers to generate a strategic baseline forecast
of future replacement needs and build a tactical five-year capital plan that includes
replacements, growth, initiative, and contingency assets. This session will review
how the forecast is generated and its output, including capital and operating cost
forecasts. It will also review how a capital plan can be constructed from a forecast,
how non-replacement assets are added to the plan, how plans are reviewed with
asset users, and the updating of long-range forecasts based on the plan.
Managing Asset
Selection [CAM]
CAM can be used to help organizations manage the process of specifying assets and
build selector lists for asset users to select new and replacement assets from. Topics
that will covered include the CAM asset structure, building planning and request
specifications in CAM, pairing components, adding options, collecting data from
requestors, and converting planned specifications to contract/order specifications.
Managing the
Production and
Assembly of Assets
[CAM]
CAM has two processes for managing the internal and external production of assets.
This session will review how different assets are ordered and purchased, and how
CAM can be used to track the production of externally assembled assets and
manage the internal assembly of assets from separately delivered components. The
course will also review how the allocation and delivery of large orders can be
managed.
Ups and Down of Life-
Cycle [CAM]
This session will review how CAM calculates life-cycles, including category standard
models and custom life-cycle models. Session will review the theory behind the
model, where the model gets its data, the use of parameters and how the model
generates its results. Also discussed will be how assets with different utilization can
be compared using scatterplots to analyze the model results.
